Joe had what I believe to be his first catches in a regular season game. Had three yesterday. He will probably have more chances with Cassel or Freeman at QB.
I know you know this, but for those not keeping up with it, Cassel was QB yesterday. Probably not for long though.

I expect Freeman to start soon & last for a few games until the Vikings sign someone else.

I thought Joe had caught a few passes previously. I may be wrong though, it may have been preseason games.

I knew Cassel played yesterday and thought that was why his targets went up. I know he caught a preseason TD but I don't think he had a regular season grab until yesterday. Even if he had three grabs was certainly his best game and will help him gain more playing time.

Last game Cassell was praised for doing what Ponder wouldn't do - go downfield. Well, yesterday Cassell became Ponder (or maybe just the real Cassell who's rep was the same a Ponder's at KC). Freeman WILL be the starter for the rest of the season and, probably, will be signed to a long-term contract (unless the season goes totally into the tank and they get a high draft pick). And I think the Voking have a bye week this week. And, despite his woes in TB this season, he is a lot better than Cassell or Ponder. Also, consider this: the remaining Vikings game are against teams Adrian Peterson has dominated so the expectation in Minnesota is they are still in good shape for a playoff run.
Great to hear Joe got regular season playing time. Hopefully him and Freeman will play well together.
Cassel has thrown a couple Webb's way in previous games but no catches till yesterday. I'm fairly sure that like many, Cassel is only place holder till Freeman is up to speed but whether Freeman has his favorites like Ponder will be seen. I think Cassel is more likely to spread it around.
