Just found out about this, huge props to whoever came up with this idea. 01-ncaabbs This was emailed to a relative of mine taking some classes:

Quote:"Northern Illinois University would like to reach out to students, faculty and staff at community colleges in the state of Illinois to invite them to any remaining home football games (including parking) for the price of just $5 per person.

All students will also be able to apply to NIU for free by attending this event! This is a great opportunity for you avoid an application fee.

Come join us to cheer on the #23 ranked Huskies!
Wow. Someone upped the marketing compensation.
i didn't know NIU implemented an application fee.
So we're doing marketing now? Is that legal? I assumed it wasn't after all these years.

I think they implemented one just so they can have lots of events where it was waived.

ha, thats what I noticed right away too, when did that start?
I'm fairly certain they've had one for awhile.

When I was in high school (graduated high school in 09), I am almost positive they had one.

I think it was like $25-40, I can't remember. I just know I only applied to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and NIU and they were all around the same cost for the fee.

well played.
Can we also sell them elevator passes when they're here?
Tailgating for them is $50, however!

It was $50 for incoming 2013.
well done NIU.
I'm pretty sure every university has an application fee. Awesome idea by NIU, though.
They didn't have one when I applied. So it is newer than 2003. But this is brilliant. Way to go!
Very impressed. They connected the dots between football success and application rates.

I hope the results are amazing!
Clap, clap , clap.

Well done.

Someone apparently understands the importance of the game day experience!

Now, bring back the skydivers!!!!
