I think he's going to break the RAW QBR record set by Andrew Luck for a single season. They will likely adjust it down due to Howard and Albany.

The first 4 guys ahead of his are all strong candidates for the Heisman Trophy.
David Washington is ranked ahead of Heinicke in Total QBR when it comes to all players, not just qualified. Ranked 11 and 12th nationally.
Since we are officially still an FCS team will Taylor be eligible to defend his Payton award? Are we eligible to be ranked in FCS polls?

No. Since we are a transitioning team with additional schollies, we are not eligible for any FCS awards or accolades.
Next year, with a full CUSA schedule, it should be interesting to see Heinicke's numbers.

Tough to really compare to full-time FBS guys this season.
I think i remember reading some where that the team is not eligible for awards, but that individual awards could still be earned by the players.

No, players are not eligible for, for lack of a better term, "official" awards.

I don't know about that. Taylor Heinicke is not even on the Walter Peyton watch list for 2013. You know he would be had he been eligible.

You are thinking of the CAA last year. No official championship but players could be on the all conference teams.
Hopefully, he can be the first ever Payton and Heisman trophy winner! [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]

LOL, zero chance. That would be incredible, though!

I agree. ODU would have to win the Conference title, secure a bowl berth, and probably beat or almost beat Vanderbilt and NC St., because as qb TH would be expected to accomplish at that level to be a serious candidate. That is unlikely enough. Even if the Monarchs were to achieve all of that, as a first year FBS program the biggest obstical of all would be politics. There is NO WAY the voters would allow a player from a first year non-BCS school to win the most coveted individual prize in all of college sports.
I dunno... highly unlikely but what a marketing dream. That's what its all about anyway.
Well they let johnny the tool win it as a freshman. And taylor isn't a jerk and he has great numbers so....meh great dream.

It's a little weird. UMass was ranked in the FCS polls when ODU played them and that was in their first transitional year. Georgia Southern is currently ranked and they're also in their first transitional year. Appy was ranked earlier as well.

But ODU isn't being considered at all even though we're in the same boat. I'd LOVE an explanation.

Yeager must have a seat at the fcs leadership table. He propably pulled some strings. 05-stirthepot

ODU is only having 1 transitional year. We are a full-time CUSA member next year. We are actually FBS Independent this year so we aren't showing up in the FCS polls.
We are FCS independent this year, our first of 2 transitional years, and C-USA is allowing us to participate in the conference as an FBS independent next year.

Ga Southern may be ranked, but they are ineligible for the FCS playoffs this year.

So, I think we did okay.
Don't misquote me! haha those are EverRespect's mistakes, not mine
