Even if we go up to Nashville and lose by a big margin, we still get to collect our $400,000. In the real world, that will pay DC Reggie Johnson's pay for a little over a year and a half! Hopefully, we pull off the upset.....if not, at least let Vandy know they have played somebody.
Or is it $650,000?

This week's SEC buy games: Tennessee is paying South Alabama $800,000; Vanderbilt is paying UAB $650,000.
That's the spirit?

That is a lot better! That pays Reggie for almost 3 years (lol). A few weeks ago, somebody posted we were getting $900,000 from LSU and $400,000 from Vandy. That did sound low from Vandy. Your $650,000 sounds more like it.......A LOT better too!
Let's go UAB Moral Victories!

+1, to avoid disappointment, lower your expectations
Great tie in to that coach that both schools have in common.
I dont want the money or to play for money, I just want to WIN football games.

I want to take their money and their "candy".

If the defense stays as it has been the rest of the season, we might not have to worry about that.

Isn't THAT the truth!
There is no "pay out standard" for any BCS school for its OOC games. Bama paid Kent State $1.2 million and one (I don't recall either school) such pay out was reported to be $1.5 million last week. It's just that if a "peasant school" tries to play "hard to get", they both know some other school will jump at the chance. Until the NCAA can penalize a BCS team for ducking the strong "peasant schools" (like Boise State which now tries to require H&H for all BCS OOC games), there is not much chance at making a lot of money (relative to need).
Colorado State.

Thanks for the info.
Bama seems to be able to justify financially "propping up" programs all over America while denying any such support to instate schools. Over the years, they have "propped up" teams from Ohio, Tenn, Tex, Miss, GA, the Carolinas, Cal, now Col and many others at the cost of many millions of "Bama Bucks".

All of this while the Alabama state Dept of Revenue announced that they would not send the $30 or so to out of state universities if their alumni purchased Alabama license tags for their alma mater for their instate cars. "It wouldn't be right to send "Alabama dollars" to out of state schools so we will turn the money over to the state's General Fund".

Is this an example of "Penny wise and Dollar stupid"?
I like our chances at Vandy tomorrow night.
