I see that you guys play us after South Carolina and before Louisville. That could be an interesting game next Saturday especially at Memphis. I be keeping my eye on this matchup.
"12 one-game seasons"

-George O'Leary
I'm sure we've played Memphis before or after a big game at some point in the last decade. Didn't seem to matter then.
Don't think he's saying Memphis is better, just that UCF might get caught napping, happens all the time in sports.
We have the week off after Memphis to prepare for Louisville. Win or lose on Saturday, we aren't gonna get caught napping against Memphis.
Looks like a potential trap game to me.
We'll be scouting that game.
I'm just hoping for good weather...
If UCF doesn't play well, almost anyone on their schedule can beat them, including Memphis.

With a lot of holes on their defense...UCF's offense has to play almost close to perfect if UCF wants to win a majority of their remaining games.

Then you add in turnovers, special team TD's or big plays...there aren't any "gimmie" games for UCF this season.

I think that was the gist of the OP. It's your standard trap set up. How it plays out who knows but looking forward to the game.
Calm down we haven't got through this week yet.
If UCF beats USC you can bet they will be overlooking little ole Memphis and thinking about Louisville. It's a trap game for sure.
It is a trap game if UCF beats South Carolina. I live in South Carolina and watch plenty of USC game. I think UCF has a very legitimate shot at beating the Gamecocks at home. South Carolina QB is not as good as Bortles and can single handedly screw up a game by himself at times. It is going to be a crazy atmosphere at UCF so anything could happen.

If UCF does in fact beat South Carolina, then they would probably enter the polls around #17-#22 and it would be easy for them to overlook Memphis but on the flip side their coaches would be pounding it into their heads not to blow it at Memphis
I think Bortles takes the opportunity pad his stats

One thing O'Leary has preached ever since he arrived at UCF is that his players focus on 12 one-game seasons each and every year.

Once a game is over...that season is over...move on to the next one...as ALL are important.

While that doesn't guarantee perfect results...players/coaches generally do a good job of focusing in on one opponent and one opponent only.

That wasn't the case last year and that was against a Memphis team that was not barely at full strength roster wise. That game was closer than the score indicated.

what are you talking about? We won by 3 scores and our RB had almost 200yds rushing. He was doing whatever he wanted. Memphis is the last thing im worried about this season, we own you.

He is probably referring to the fact that they had more total yards, more rushing yards, and more Time of Possession than us. But the game never got closer than 14-10 at halftime.

And once again, we do not play Louisville after Memphis. We play nobody. We have the week off. We aren't going to look past Memphis to the bye week. We can worry about Louisville for two whole weeks after this game. It is not going to be overlooked.

We were within 6 iirc off a UCF TO and then Karam threw the interception trying to make a home run play.
We normally lose to UAB because we over look them. So yes If we beat SC then I would be plenty worried about Memphis because the Louisville becomes very important.
