I think we have about figured out who we play in conference and who we don't next year, but still some confusion over which of the Louisiana schools we play at home. We are assuming we play 1 of the 2 at home and do not play the other next year.
Anyone from one of the Louisiana schools know?
I would assume that it would be ULM since the Cajuns got f'd out of a home Belt game this year.

Curious to know what you guys came up with for the rest of your schedule.
Of course this is from several sources and trying to put this and that together but here is what we think:
Home games: Appalachian, Troy, Idaho and either ULM or Louisiana
Away games: Georgia St., South Alabama, New Mexico St. and Texas State
Not playing: Arkansas St. and either ULM or Louisiana

We only have 11 teams next year, so there won't be a conference championship game. Gotta add that 12th member.
I was told we host Monroe and travel to Lafayette if that helps.
ULM is in Monroe--UL or Louisiana is in Lafayette---A lot of confusion is avoided by just calling the Cajuns Louisiana---It really gets messed up when we are confused with the Lafayette Leopards---That is why we wish to be referred to as just Louisiana or UL Ragin' Cajuns!!! It brings certainly more prestige to our conference also !!!

Seems a little self-serving to me, but thanks for being so concerned about "conference prestige". LOL Actually, I believe most people can distinguish between "ULM" and "ULL" and there is no reason you should be referred to as "Lafayette" or confused with the school in Easton, Pa.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Electronic Sports Programing Network-Bristol has on more than one occasion flashed the Lafayette Leopards logo instead of ours, most recently, if I recall, just before our first N.O. Bowl.
But what I do think is self serving is when a fan want not only his brand but also the right to tell another what his brand should be.
The difference is, I recognize (and welcome) ULM's branding efforts. But I figure you are not going to recognize, nor welcome, mine. So who's being self serving here?
A thread about football becomes a pissing match between UL(L) and ULM fans. shocker.

The expectations of any kind of rational discussion on the sbuject is a waste of time. What the University of Louisiana-Lafayette brands their athletics is the least of Louisiana-Monroe's concerns when they have to hold athletic fundraisers at the local bingo hall.

"rational discussion".....I don't think you realize that most of the discussion isn't really rational. To repeatedly argue the point isn't rational either. I'm all about the Cajuns and using UL, but I think if you stepped back and looked at all the b.s. about it on these message boards, it doesn't look good.
Seriously, would you guys shut up about the name thing already. Nobody gives a crap but you. Take it to PM's.
On another note, I don't care who we play and when, it will just be exciting to have some new opponents at home.
