thanks. we have some upset fans because we really wanted to pull off another shocker. I think the sane ones will come around after sleeping on this and be happy with progress we are making. We gave one of the best offenses in the country fits all night. Take away some unforced turnovers and this game is even closer.
It was a close game which was awesome. Our red zone offense was painful to watch. I think thats why fans are upset, we got the ball at the 11 and 35, took it to the one and got zero points. In the end it was a better game than last year.
It was a great win for TXST and I congratulate your team. Go 'Cats.

Impressive showing. You're defense is everything you've billed it to be, and I'm glad we have 2 weeks to prepare for it because it is gonna create some real problems for the Cajuns, I keep ranking Tx State high in my weekly rankings, and everyone wondered why, well, there's the reason. With any substantial offense, they'd look like an 8-9 win team. Still, I think there's enough there to get bowl eligible and once there who knows.

You just have to remember... Some folks didn't like the Fran hire from the get go, and then the unwarranted extension... So it doesn't matter what Fran does, there will be detractors.
I'm not stoked about the play calling, or the execution on offense last night, but I have to keep reminding myself that Tech has a LEGIT defense this year. That helped exposed some of our "known" deficiencies that we'll have to deal with all year.
But to me, that is still overshadowed by the work put in by the defense. They really showed they deserve to be mentioned with the top (and by top I mean top 20-30) defenses in FBS this year.

Seeing how A-State played yesterday, I'm predicting TXST first and ULL second as conference kings. Forget ULM,WKU and State unless we make some dramatic changes in our style of play.

Bobcat87, please understand this old Jaguar didn't sleep much Friday night and was looking for scores late Saturday and barely saw the UTSA/UTEP score, thinking it was TXST with the winning score. Wasn't thinking about y'all playing TTU. The Bobcats are one of my favorite SBC teams, but I do want my Jags to pin their ears back when we come to town.

They are probably the best offense we will face so far, but I'm confident that we will be able to at least slow them down. Now we have to figure out a way to score some points.

I had the opportunity to watch our game again on Sunday afternoon and felt much better about the game. Our defense had played lights out against Texas Tech. If Texas State had done a better job of ball handling in the redzone we would be celebrating a win. The offense did not look as bad when taking into account TCU only scored 10 on Texas Tech. Wyoming does not have a defense like Texas Tech. We have a chance on the Offensive side to make this game something special. Here is to hoping our D comes out pissed off and takes it out on the Cowboys this week.
