Clemson is getting their herp derp on and pulling a Clemson early in the Textile Bowl.
While Tajh has overthrown some passes I am overall very impressed with NC States Defense
NC State just got hosed. Hooray, ACC officiating.
Nice of the officials to step in and try and stop the impending Clemsoning.
Minus the officiating which is almost as agregious as the PAC 12 officials. NC State has redeemed themselves after that performance against Richmond.
No mention of GT during the "Is this the best ACC in the BCS era?" segment. Good. Keep it quiet. The early returns suggest all three of GT's huge problems are dramatically improved. No passing threat is remedied by Vad. Bad special teams is remedied by the heavily recruited true freshman kicker who kicks it out of the endzone on kickoffs and hit a 49-yd fg against Duke. Bad defense seems to be remedied thus far. There is MUCH more pressure on the other QB, the defense plays much faster, and there aren't big gashing blown coverages, and *gasp* even adjustments that shut down the other offense after they look great.
I haven't seen the called-back TD yet, but from what I have seen
a) NC State's offense has talent but needs to eliminate some of the errors (false starts, etc.)
b) Clemson's defense continues to improve and is starting to remind me of the Oklahoma Sooners about 5 to 10 years ago...
Wait, you thought Clemson's defense looked good? They gave up 5.2 yards per play and it would've been 5.8 if the officials didn't blow it.

For comparison's sake, NC State put up 6.2 against La Tech and 5.8 against Richmond.
This win was almost as empty as every win in the 1993 season. Absolutely nothing outside the DL and Chandler Catanzaro was worth a damn. I am pretty sure I could go to four random high school games tomorrow night and blindly pick four secondary players that tackle better than ours.
Clemson did not look good but a Thursday night road win is always tough. They should coast through their next three before the big showdown with FSU.

better than last year, but not yet really good. Also, to clarify, they are playing a similar style of defense to what Venables had at OU... not yet with the same results as the championship defenses, however.
I didn't think the blown out of bounds play was terribly egregious. Yes, they got the call wrong, but at full speed and without the aid of replay he was very close to the chalk. The TV broadcast team had to play it twice before they could call it. That is with the video replay and slow motion.

Well, you're wrong. But at least it won't bother you when something of that magnitude happens every other ACC game.

OK, now THAT's egregious. (when did this happen?)

Here's another angle.

He was tossed from the game (it happened towards the end so it didn't matter). Hopefully he's suspended for the Wake Forest game.
I think you get half the next game suspended if you get thrown out in the second half.

I didn't say the call was right. I merely said it was within reason that it was as likely human error as the refs cheating for Clemson's benefit. He got the call wrong. On that we agree. We simply differ in our interpretation of how he got it wrong. You are saying that he was purposefully cheating and I am saying it could have been an honest mistake. Those do happen at times when humans are involved.

Maybe one game is mandatory but LeGarrette Blount was suspended 8 games for punching a player a few years back at Oregon. It'd be a joke if this guy only sat one game, considering prior precedent from other schools and the fact the dude's a scrub backup.
If he doesn't get suspended it is because we are protecting Clemson and if he does get suspended it is because the ACC has always hated Clemson.
