Just saw this in the Comical. I feel really bad for him to lose his senior season like this.

Wow, real bummer for him. Hope the young guys are ready to get more reps. For some reason I thought he had injured his arm or something, didn't realize it was his knee. Or maybe I am thinking of his missed tackle on the long TD reception, and didn't notice he returned later when this happened? Either way, sucks.

Yeah, awful news.

On TV, you could see him reach for his knee while jumping to defend a pass toward the very end of the game, so it looked bad.

You are thinking about the long TD. That was his shoulder. He was hurt again late in the 4th quarter (either Kansas' last drive or 2nd to last drive). Stayed down for a long time and needed a lot of help to get off the field.

I feel so bad for him to lose his senior year like this.

From a football perspective, fortunately, Julius White is his back-up. He got a lot of experience last year and I don't think we will see a drop off with him out there.

Next question: Frazier missed 10 games last year and will miss another double digits this year. Sounds to me like medical redshirt material so we can have him back next year as a 5th year senior. Is he interested in that option?

Or he could just legally change his last name to Keenum. I'm told there's a special Keenum clause in the NCAA bylaws.

I'd love to see him try to reconstruct and rehab again. But it's really tough. About 1/4-1/3 of athletes will not return to competitive sports after an INITIAL injury and repair. About 3-5% of those that do return will have a re-injury. (It's a little difficult to get exact numbers because it's not real common). Re-injury is associated with a higher incidence of other ligamentous and meniscus injuries..requiring more extensive repair.
It's a difficult situation.

It's a difficult situation.

Whether he plays again or not, I want to see him reconstruct and rehab again. He will be better off long term that way. Trust me - I know from personal experience that reconstructed and rehabbed is tough, but repaired and not rehabbed is worse - I've seen that in others! And you are certainly right about the amount of collateral damage being a huge issue too.
