Well i guess our run defense is gonna be tested this week since. The Citadel only threw for 17 yards.

If our defense is relatively stout and get some stops when we need them, I think this game will be well in hand by halftime. If our 3rd down defensive troubles continue (and against a rush-happy offense, I am inclined to to think they will) then the game will be closer than most would like.

"Closer than most would like"...lets beat a triple option team for once before we talk like this is a gimmie. And I don't count VMI because they are a bad team/program.

That is close to the 51-24 score I predicted on the CUSAbbs.

The main issue with the triple option is to be discipline.

I see this as a HUGE concern- With a young inexperience Defense

Still do not believe they will be able to stop our Offense.
We will give up a lot of rushing yardage but out score them

I like the way you picked it, but I do believe our defense may hold them to even less. I see at least four turnovers for the Citadel this week.

I hope you are right. That would truly be a breakthrough performance by our defense.

Guys predicting we hold Citadel to fewer points than a bad Howard team? Take off the blue colored glasses. Howard hit us for 465 yards. And Howard is no Citadel.

Would love to see that. I just don't believe it will happen.

I don't think the Citadel's offense is what it was in 2012. They lost 5 starters on offense. They average 3 fumbles per game. We need to pick up at least 2 of their fumbles. Their defense has not been that good against primarily running offenses. Despite this, I predict we will still struggle against the TO but will prevail 45-24.

Howard scored a touchdown in garbage time against our backups. The Citadel scored 29 against Charleston-Southern, 10 against Wofford, and 28 against Western Carolina.

Let's not act like they're Ga. Southern this year. For whatever reason, they aren't scoring as many points as they were last year against these same teams.

But yes, I realize my prediction is bold.

With our guys getting the win of course!

Just don't assume anything. I would completely disregard what Citadel did against the other 3 teams when projecting how the Veer Option will work on Saturday.

If we figure it out at some point of the game then we should win comfortably. If we don't then we get worn down just like last year and set us up for a potential loss.

I think we'll be fine though.
