You ask way too much from us...

A quick look at Sagarin's reveals we have a 203 SoS. Of the 23 1-AA's ahead of us only 4 teams have a worse ranking than JMU. One of which is Ga Southern. So they don't count. There appears to be plenty of teams behind us with a stronger SoS than us. Also, there are 8 CAA teams ahead of us in this category as well. So at this point, my guess is that we would be a bubble team, at best. Obviously, scheduling Charlotte, Akron, STFU and CCSU do not help our case in this regard and we need to keep winning.

makes sense..but also, as the top of the CAA keeps winning this year, their SoS will increase, as will ours - 7-5 might not be impossible..but yes, let's just win..

I'm not so sure the ranking system will have a profound impact on the make up of the playoff field. The GPI, which includes computer rankings that incorporate SoS, has done pretty well predicting the field for the most part such that the teams selected for the playoffs are usually higher ranked than those who are not. The article didn't say if they were going to release the the results of this system but it would be interesting to compare it to the others out there.

The article also says that they will consider 6 D1 win teams and their system will somehow incorporate DII games. With the expanded field it is probably inevitable that a 6 D1 win team will eventually make it in at some point.
