Clemson - 81,428
Miami - 76,968
Virginia Tech - 61,335
Virginia - 58,502
NC State - 50,554
North Carolina - 48,000
Maryland - 38,377
Boston College - 32,465

Lowest crowd this week was BC's 32.5k since Duke/WF didn't host. Top 5 over 50k with top 2 near 80k, UNC at 48k (disappointing?).
That was the end of VT's 93 game home sell out streak.

TRUE. On the other hand, when your worst-attended game in - what is it? - 8 years still draws 61,335, that ain't bad!
Unfortunately our fan base doesn't show up for football games..... A lot of the complaints is the 12:00 o'clock starts but that's just the way our fans are.... I wish we had better attendance and thought it would improve after the bowl ban but apparently not.

Did fans show when Mack Brown was there?
BC attendance reflects several years of a losing program and an AD who alienated the fanbase with one money grab after another and treated his ticket holder population as a nuisance to be tolerated rather than the lifeblood of his program. It'll take some time to reverse the impacts of the last several years, but, BC has a responsive AD now who seems to care about making the stadium experience worth the investment and understands that he has to work a bit to compete with other entertainment options in Boston. I'm disappointed at the attendance figures, but, heartened that BC is finally moving in the right direction again.

The stadium was smaller when he was here but I remember crowds were quite a bit larger than they are today. We've always had the problem of only showin up for big time opponents, State, or Duke. I hate to say there is a definite "basketball culture" but we are trying to create a bigger football culture as we are closing Franklin Street for the Miami game for tailgating and fun activities and such

I've been reading about his improved gameday experience. Fireworks type show at every home game, better tailgating, etc. Sounds like he is committed to improving football attendance for sure.
How many fans do the different ACC schools bring when they travel to conference games? Louisville will be expanding soon.

Most aren't really known as traveling fanbases.

They don't for the most part.

Clemson
VT
FSU

The rest aren't worth talking about.

Miami usually has a good showing (at least a thousand). I think we brought several thousand to BC, GT, Duke last year. Not sure of other schools we played, just saw our local bases showing up for those ones on TV.

We're trying to climb out of the same boat.

I could see VT bringing 5-10K but that's if the Blacksburg/Roanoke locals travel. The Richmond/Nova/Va. Beach Hokies that travel to home games would be less likely to drive the extra 5 1/2 hours to get to Louisville. I guess it depends how good both schools are in the 1 year we play each other this cycle.
The last time Louisville played at North Carolina, I drove there. We left Louisville at 10:00 p.m. on a Friday after my childerns high school football game. We drove all the way to Chapel Hill. Checked in to the hotel and took a shower. We went to the shopping center and took the game bus to the stadium. After the game, we ate out, went back to the hotel. The next morning, we drove back to Louisville, arriving home on Sunday afternoon. I plan on going to all the away games, in the ACC. Lots of Louisville fans will make 12 hour drives everybody in the ACC is a 12 hour drive or less, except for Boston College and Miami. I will fly or take a tour bus to those games. I love ACC Country, I lived a lot of years in Tidewater Virginia. 04-cheers
It should answer the question when someone is bragging about bringing 1000 fans on the road.

SC State had at least 3 times that at Clemson Saturday.

Welcome back...I've took you off my ignore list. Hopefully we can debate as friendly rivals and show mutual respect on the board.
