Drank very little before, during and after the game last night. Why do I feel so lousy this morning? I need a sports hangover cure ASAP. By the looks of things, I unfortunately will have plenty of opportunities to look for a cure over the coming weeks.
I actually slept great and woke up alert and refreshed.
A little perspective.

That's your "cure".

A kid has been given an adult's job as the WMU football coach.

Nobody knows how things will turn out, but right now there is (and will be) a HUGE learning curve

Better to realize that and accept it.
I'm going to the Lions game... That will either help me forget about last night disaster, or drive me straight to the liquor cabinet...
ESSSS, thanks for the prescription. I was half kidding in my diagnosis but your suggestion is spot on, no doubt. Feeling better already!

Hair of the dog, watch the Lions. 03-weeping
Lions win 34-24. Good cure.
Helped A LOT!

Exactly.

Last year when the Lions went in the tank I just stopped watching. I turned Sunday's into what they should be. A day to spend with family and to get some chores done around the house.

My wife is always complaining that during football season my weekends are too preoccupied with college and pro football. Other than watching Big Blue, my Saturdays are now free.

PJ could have strung me along, but he did me a huge favor by showing what he's all about early in the season. As stated so eloquently, he's simply a kid and will have to learn his craft on the job. This is clearly what Dunn and KB wanted, so this is what we get.

As a long time Cubit supporter my choice was ousted. I'll accept that and move on to other things.

Yeah, they wanted someone who adhered to their vision, as I said to someone who was once very close to the program last night, "this is what they get for hiring a puppet".

The curve is real, and it'll vary from Saturday from Saturday, no foundation he has to build that first. I'll be watching with one eye all along, but I sure won't be all in for a while. Much like I follow our hoops these days, with some hope tempered with trepidation.
Who does Illinois play next week?
