Northwestern - Best team we'll face all year IMHO. Very fast. Zone read. Mobile QB. It's gonna be ugly.

Iowa - NIU struggled to beat them. They will be able to run but it'll be closer than what we all think now. We match-up well with them, just not a win.

Kent State - I know a LOT of you think this should be a win, but if Dri is healthy, it's gonna be ugly. Reardon had a good 1st half today against BOWLING GREEN. (BG is my odds on favorite for the MAC right now.) Without Archer. He is a mobile QB too. And Trayion Durham is a monster.

Toledo - The MAC's Northwestern. Fast, great offense, decent defense.

Buffalo - Khalil Mack will kill someone (TVT) in this game I feel. Winnable, but only if we shut down the B.O./Alex Neutz show. (Neutz had 6 catches for 196 yards against Baylor today)

Ball State - Again, great offense. Meh defense, but has locked down in the 2nd half.

UMass - If we don't win the games before this one (probable), and lose this one, 0-12 is pretty much there. UMass has the offense to possibly win, but I just don't see it happening.

EMU - Hey, they didn't look bad today against Penn State. It'll be coming off a bye, so that helps. Toss up.

CMU - Still learning to play without Tipton. They also broke in their new QB to the tune of 19-for-32, 326, 3 TDs. Niznak is done. Everyone meet Cooper Rush.

NIU - On the road at one of the toughest venues in the MAC to play, against one of the best players in the nation. I don't know what'll be worse, the Northwestern game or the NIU game.

What do you think? 2-10? Better? Worse?

Did anyone see tonight happening??
I think if the team gets their chit together we could pull off a few wins. After tonight though, I can't see us winning a game this year.
Only takes one really bad coach to turn you into the next Akron

That's a scary thought.

But we all are a reactionary bunch.
Looking like a valid thought, and that's scary I agree. That MSU game was an outlier, it was in driving rain for quite a while and much was after a big storm delay.

Today we were just flat out poorly prepared and coached. Our talent was there, we were better than them, much more physical and able to run at will. Play calling and decisions from the sideline were suspect.

Hoping PJ grows up and learns from this fast, or it's going to e a LONG LONG season.
Your analysis of the remaining season is right on, Brown and Gold.

The thing is, that outcome is about what I was expecting BEFORE the Nicholls game. I was thinking 3 wins for sure and maybe one more.

I think PJ is right. We keep rowing the boat, get the foundation of his system in place, and work like heck to pull off a couple surprises. But at this point, might as well get the 2-3 win expectation firmly in mind. Can't really expect more than that. It is going to be a grim year.
Waking up after a rough's night sleep, I think CMU is another toss-up. Another pro-style offense that we should be able to stop or at least hang with. It's at home. Senior Day. Biggest rivals. Lots of time to grow before then, but we match-up better against them style-wise than EMU, though EMU tends to kill themselves more and would be coming off a bye.

That said, these next 6 games are going to be rough. Hold on to the ride.
Here I was prepared for this guy to light the world on fire and have to keep things in perspective, not liking his style but LOVING WMU. Was all set for that, not these kinds of prognostications.

Curve ball.

A curve for sure I was looking at a 5-7 season After last night 0-12 is a real possibility
I was at 5-7 with a guaranteed win last night.

Drop me to 3-9.
You see three wins?
Yeah, I'm not seeing it.

Ball State at home- Cubit took them to OT with the same QB. TVT was every bit as good as Wenning that game. Probably just not rowing the boat hard enough right now, but I don't see a win there.
Loss

CMU at home- We probably have enough offense to hang with them. On paper this defense should be good. They have depth and experience with the exception of the DE's. That said, nothing I saw yesterday would indicate that this group can play up to its potential.
Loss

UMass on the road- Probably an even match up, but I have to give the edge to Umass being at home. They also have a Cubit disciple in Charlie Molinar. He has grown children, and years of experience. I think Doogie might be a few years away.
Loss

EMU on the road- English can coach. Lord knows the guy doesn't get a single recruit that anyone else wants yet he still plays competitively. Their QB Benz played on an Illinois state championship team in the highest division you can play in. Yet, no one wanted him? Seems odd.
Loss

Those to me were the potential wins. Just not seeing any.
Bama is money though.

Roll Tide!!!!
Closer to home - Go Lakers. And they never talk about rowing.

To be honest, No. But I have to believe that they are going to fall into a few wins somewhere.

Like we have been saying all along, the schedule softens up late. Doesn't mean we will win those games, but I have to believe we get a few wins at some point against those other crap teams.
