Not really, fact is you guys would have lost anyway. Really not that good of a football team at all, but not bad either and with a lot of upside. Should get better as the year goes along.
If you can keep this staff together you will be a very a good football team, and should be a force in CUSA from the start. Future looks bright for WKU football, so enjoy.

Amazing how over the last few seasons we have played Alabama, LSU and Georgia all surprisingly well considering circumstances and some really bad teams....When we face UT at Neyland we just lay eggs and act like we have not every saw a football in our life...We got beat 63 to 7 2009 and now this? How can you explain playing Bama, LSU and Georgia way tougher than down UT teams both times..Does not make sense!
Message to Sun Belt, you will fear our offense but our defense is no where near what it was the last two seasons..I know its early but I am afraid the better offense has led our defense to go the way of the usual Petrino Defenses..Our DL is young and not very good...I still say we can finish 8 and 4 this season, said it preseason and will say it again..I would take 8 and 4 every day!

I thought the defense was good enough to win today. The offense is what killed us. You can't expect to beat Savannah State with 7 turnovers much less a good SEC team. Take away the 2 pick 6's and the 2 end zone picks and that is a 28 point swing. Problem is you can't so you take the ass kicking and move on.

The defense played fairly well these past two weeks. Heaven forbid they not get stops when hey start in their own territory because doughty is playing for the other team.
Defensive effort was there the 38 points on 7 turnovers was the game.

Doughty was not to blame for many of those turnovers. One of the pick-sixes was COMPLETELY on the receiver. Then his confidence was shaken and he was out of it.
The guy went 27-34 against UK. He's good, but the offense has to work well around him. Our receivers drop passes like crazy.

I agree he was rattled after the deflected pass, it is tough in that environment, but he has to shake that off and play ball. Brick Hands U is our moniker this season.
