ECU beating FAU 21-6 just before the half. As usual, ECU looks very strong defensively. FAU shows flashes on offense, and hopefully our defense will be ready to compete when we open conference play vs them.

FAU is physical, but their passing game is AWFUL.......1 good throw/catch. ECU's QB is very good, as is the RB (Cooper).

At least one of those losses was one of the most creative UAB losses I've seen...a blocked chip shot game-winning FG attempt as time expired.

I agree......there is a good chance they will be 0-5 when they come to Birmingham. After tonight, they have South Florida, MTSU and Rice. South Florida did look kind of goofy in their opener though.

Of course, their offense is that exact same as when the Troy running QB was in the game - one-dimensional but effective(at least against us). So, a full game of that...

After watching the whole game, I'll give FAU a little more credit..........they are a scrappy bunch, no quit in them.

ECU will definitely be a divisional contender.
A few things I can take away from tonights game. ECU is good enough to beat us easily. Not good enough to hang in with Va Tech.
FAU is in a position similar to when we had David Isabelle. Their qb can be elusive, but cant pass. Their D line didn't play too bad. Their secondary guys are good on man coverage when they have play recognition. I expect to have a more competitive game against FAU than most expect. We know we can hang in with ECU, but why should I expect us to be up for the challenge or to be able to have good game at ECU.
All I know is when FAU was one of the worst teams in the country, they were still good enough to beat us. I will not be talking about how bad they are until we beat them. I definitely will not be saying we should quit the program if we lose to them, because if that was true, we wouldn't be playing this year.

Hoping we get a surprise tomorrow and Drec is cleared to play this Saturday. Would love to add another big physical receiver with 4.5 speed, especially against LSU.
