There is one. It's in the baseball complex... I don't know of one I can post on here.... But it will rival UL's and USA's proposed complex..

It will be a concrete structure with a over head covering. I can't remember how many it will seat. But over 1k that much I know.
3million dollar facility... Pretty good chunk for a Softball complex

What falls under renovations to the field and dugouts. Is this the playing surface or a new grandstand. What type of practice facility is being built? Thanks for the info.

There will be a new grandstand too. It will be similar to what UL has and what USA is planning. The grandstands will be a concrete structure with a over head covering.

Go Trojans! 04-rock
I know the old side of the road high school style field that is there right now is an absolute joke. But I wonder what made them spend 3 million on this and not just keep the money to close up the football stadium with a building?

But I have not been keeping up with that. Do any of you guys know how much money they need to start that or did they just trash the idea?

So you are saying only football should get the money? Or is it that football should get the money first?

I for one am glad to see the investment into other areas of the conference, even if it is at the expense of football. Softball has risen to the point where the SBC is a top ten conference. In order to maintain and/or increase that, this kind of news has to happen from multiple schools.
Plans are still very much in the works...but I absolutely do not agree that they should have just kept that money and applied it towards the new end zone facility. Our softball complex has been in desperate need of renovations and additions for years.

Well of course I would prefer it to be invested in football because that's where the money and exposure comes from. I'm not saying they should not put money in softball I was just curious if they decided to go ahead with this because the money was not there for the football plan.
Each athletic program has a budget and projects set aside.... Softball had raised enough money to break ground on their Softball complex

As of May of this year Troy football needed 1 more million to break ground on the 35million dollar stadium upgrade. Word is they want to break ground this offseason and be fully ready for 2015 season.

Football isn't the only thing with plans either... As you know the band is getting a huge new building that's nearly complete and baseball has plans to expand and grow soon.
