Who do you want to be when you grow up (as a program)?

We all love and have friendships with the folks in charge at ualr. Which brings me to the following paths for the program from here:

1. Troy State
Troy had a long time coach that never won at this level and had a flawed system. Fan support that was next to nothing. They built a new arena and made a change at head coach. Don’t know if either will help but they gave the guy they had a life time to work it out.
2. La Tech
Had a coach that won 20 games several years in a row and was friends with Karl but they did not see it working out long term. He had some down years too. They pulled the trigger on a bcs assist no one had ever heard of. 3 years in they have had a top 25 team and a real shot at a ncaa at large birth.
Tech is located in a town that most view as worse than Little Rock, yet they recruit NBA talent year in and year out. They have gone to the post season 4 times in the 2000’s.

This program shows no signs that we want to have a great mid-major program. Just keep dragging our feet. Play at the .500 level and bull**** these money people to keep buying tickets is all they want out on University Avenue. They care not whether anyone is sitting in the seats or not.

I don't care whether we get a young assistant from a successful program, or a Joe Foley out of a successful D-2 program, but for God's sake, try something different.

You are taking a 50/50 shot. But sometimes you have to take a shot and see if it hits.

Staying pat means we are troy.

They probably have 20 years of being about .500.
