Realignment has thrown things into confusion. The BCS soon will be history, so who then will be considered the Majors in basketball? Certainly the Pac, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, SEC. But is the American - the remnant of the old Big East. Is the new non-football Big East? To anyone who knows basketball, the Big East is now a powerhouse, but they will not have the money resources that are drawn in by the football conferences' TV packages.
