The OL looks to be better. I only remember 1 sack, and the run-blocking looked pretty good, for the most part. Of course, they will get severely tested this week. They do look big and strong though!

Champlin said the sack was recorded on the intentional grounding play.
& that was the only time when AB didn't unload the ball when he should have.

He also had a few passes that should not have been made, one being a pass out to the slot when the Troy defender had held his intended target.

It about cost us an interception & possibly a return for a TD.

Still though, he looked like a veteran for the first half of the game. Too bad something happened or didn't happen at halftime.
Three of his balls should have been picked. One was caught out of bounds. Otherwise he looked good for three quarters. Hope they clean that up as well.
Put Backman out there and he will be fine.
He is important to this offense, for sure.........looking forward to seeing Henderson too!

Will Backman be able to start at LSU? Heard a Troy fan say that he will have to sit out the first half of the next game also.
Somebody on here said he won't have to. I guess that's because he got thrown out before halftime.
No, I think it only applies to the game he was in.

If he had gotten thrown out the last play of the game, he still could play in the next game.

I don't believe you want to hear gumps screaming because a star player got thrown out of the Western Carolina game & couldn't play in the LSU game.

( I have no idea if Alabama plays Western Carolina or not, just using it as an example)

I could be wrong though on this rule.
Right, he only has to sit out a half. If it had happened the second half he would have to sit out the first half of LSU.

We also get Hump back as well as get TH.
I hope you are right about Humphrey!
Oh boy. That seems like it is asking for trouble by sitting out a half.

It is quite interesting that I have only heard of 3 players getting ejected so far. Anybody know about how many players were ejected up to this point?
I think it's sit out the rest of the half you were thrown out of, and the entire next half, to keep people who'd been ejected from returning to the same game, and to make sure guys who were thrown out late in games weren't let off the hook because the lateness of the ejection.

Technically, Backman served a longer suspension that most, because of the OT period. That's nitpicking, to be sure, but there it is.

Texas A&M's Deshazor Everett got ejected in the 2nd half so he has to sit out next week against Sam Houston State.

Oregon's Terrance Mitchell got ejected (and his was obvious). Doesn't have to sit out a half next game though (1st half ejection).

Tulane's CB Lorenzo Doss was tossed because of a QB hit under the rule.

Indiana State had a guy on special teams, Carlos Aviles, who blew up a defenseless returner early and deserved to be tossed. It was a really dirty play.
That Indiana State player did the dirtiest play I've seen in a while.......totally uncalled for.
