UC should tell X ... take your pick play Kansas St or UC....did Texas Tech go back to Indianapolis and play...NO...Knight knew it was time to move on and he did...Huggs ego just can't let go...he will stick it to UC at every opportunity...
Does it really matter if K-State plays X here? If you are against this game, simply choose not to go to it or watch it on t.v.!!! Personally I have always enjoyed watching X lose and if K-State can help that cause so be it. In addition you know that this would just piss NaZi off, and if Huggs really wants to just be a thorn in her side, so be it. It has no bearing on me as a UC fan.

Or maybe he is recruiting the two top players in the 2007 class... they get to see his team play their senior year of high school, then they get to come back to Cincinnati and play during their 1 year in college. Seems pretty smart to me...
Haven't we already covered this? 03-yawn
Yes.

I'm telling you that Huggins is going to do everything he can to stay in the mind of Nancy Zimpher and the BOT's. He is that kind of guy. He doesn't let things go. His competitive nature is trying to throw this all in the faces of the BOT's.

Personally, I'm getting sick of it. Why do we need to continue to hear about Huggins? Go over to K-State boards and quit talking about it hear.

This is the Cronin era.
Or maybe X wanted this game to chalk up another victory on their schedule. Since they have continually BEAT Huggs' coached teams over the years, they probably figured "Why stop now?" 05-stirthepot

I love how people conclude it is "all ego." The guys is heavily tied to the area and wants to recruit here. Not only the NCH trio but also Gates and plenty of other southern ohio kids. If they play at US Bank the next two years, OJ and Bill can be sold on getting a chance to play in Ohio in their frosh year. I think recruiting has may more to do with it than ego.
Newsflash: Huggs is continuing to support Emmanuel charity in Cincinnati even though he doesnt live here anymore. That sumbitch! He doesn't care about that charity! It is all ego.
If I remember correctly Huggins was 8-8 against Xavier... not great, but it could be MUCH worse (like what Huggins has done to Dayton during his time, I believe it is 12-1).
Cat Man- I believe Huggs was 8-8 against X....so continually beating Huggs is not what X did....
OK - I'm taking bets on how long this thread lasts today.
It deserves to head to slag heap with all of the similar threads.
Come on Murph....You know Huggs has a huge ego...he ran 2 AD's out of town...it's great he continues to donate to local charities...that does'nt mean you can't have a huge ego....
uchoops, for a guy that constantly bashes anything that is posted about KSU and Huggins, why start this thread?

Does it concern UC? Nope.

50/50 shot. I'd take those odds. Especially if I were playing a Big 12 school or a perennial Top 25 team. (as Huggs teams were during those 16 games)

I'll also take the odds that Mick Cronin will do much better against X in his tenure.
Oleski...I believe it does have something to do with UC... you don't think one of the reasons Huggs is thinking of scheduling this game to get back at UC??
No, I think he's using it as a recruiting tool and the ability for both teams to make a lot of money. You can't tell me a Huggins return against X wouldn't sell out US Bank.

Yeah, I will be rooting for Xavier in that game. They will win.......they always beat Huggs. He sucks against them.

What in the hell does giving to charities have to do with "not having an ego"??????

BWAHAAAAAAA!!!! Hilarious.
US Bank is the one that brought the KS-XU game up. It's not about ego it's about dollars. US Bank called Huggins and Miller about getting this game. They both said yes and that's about as involved as they are. US Bank is the one pushing this deal for the money. I think it would be great for the fans including me. It would be a must see game. All the rest of you will be watching it also if it happens so just enjoy. Don
