Apparently, Eugene is going to visit UC on the 18th, then Maryland after that, and then he says he'll make a decision. He also mentioned Florida, but didn't talk about a visit there. It sounds like he's not going to wait on Lance Thomas. This sounds like good news to me. Someone was concerned that he was going to vist the Terps first, and that he might commit before he gets to Clifton. Hopefully, Mick can make a good impression, and he doesn't waste his time with the Maryland visit. 04-bow

Here's hoping he doesn't get off campus without a sig.

Could UC be making a late run at these two outstanding basketball players? Lets break it down. Mick was very adamant on hiring Savino because of his roots in the Jersey area. Before Savino signed to become an assistant at UC there was a rumor going around that Rutgers was making a strong push to bring him to the New Jersey school. Eugene Harvey has a visit scheduled in the next week or so. Maybe just maybe Downey leaving is a blessing in disguise because if Harvey was signed I think he would be the starting PG next year. Which could possibly mean he brings his buddy Lance Thomas with him. Let me know your thoughts
Thomas is too strong right now with Duke and Rutgers. As much as you might like to see him at UC in the Fall, it will not happen. He's waiting to see what happens with Douby at Rutgers (Douby leaves for the NBA - Thomas picks Duke) and McRoberts at Duke (McRoberts leaves for the NBA - Thomas picks Duke). Something like that. No UC in the picture. Harvey is another story because Rutgers has two PG's ahead of him and Maryland is in basically the same situation. He can start for UC.

A man can dream can't he ;-) I would be happy with just Harvey and from everything I have read it makes sense for him to come to UC because we have what the other schools do not PLAYING TIME.

Go CATS!!
I don't think it would be a "blessing" in disguise. I don't think losing a Big East First Team Freshman leaving is a good thing. But, I do agree the timing of the decision could turn out very amiable for UC.
Welcome Todd. I enjoy your blog.
Most definitely. You will note from my signature that I went to both UC and Rutgers. I would love for Thoams to come to Rutgers, but if not, than certainly UC. His Uncle mentioned that other schools are getting in on him lately, most notable Florida. Again, it is a playing time issue. With UC, he could start with his buddy. He can't do that at Rutgers, since Harvey is behind this year's freshman starter, and an incoming 2nd year transfer who was a top NJ high schooler.
Which blog? If it deals with UC, how about a link?

Lemmi,

I just found this site and I already love it. I am a UC Bearcat junkie! Is there anything on the BLOG that you would like me to add? I am trying to make it a one stop shop for everything that is UC Basketball.
I have the signatures turned off on this board. Saves a bunch of space and stuff but sometimes I miss out on info. Anyone got the link?

Why Big 10 Todd?
Well done. BTW, where ya at in Warsaw? I have land across the river in Switzerland Co. Pass through your town and clear the BP out of my beverage of choice every time we head out there.

It was a nick name given when I first started surfing the web. Because I am a HUGE OSU footballl fan
So am I and a whole lot of the other posters. But keep that quiet around this board. Anything less than 100% allegiance to all things Bearcat can get you some sideways glances.
