Rutgers lost a 1 point OT on the road to the MWC divisional favorite. Nothing major there. Had they gotten clobbered I would agree.

Right now the worst hit UConn.'s loss
lmao no way Uconn losing 1-AA and getting blown out is flat out embarrasing. Rutgers was a 10pt dog, no real surprise they lost. Rutgers is pretty bad so losing to a MWC favorite isn't a big deal.

But that is bad because we need to be making sure we are above the MWC. That last access slot starting in 2014 needs to go to the American.

Of course UConn is bad due to FCS but at least the KState loss mitigated things a bit.

I might agree if Rutgers was part of the AAC next year. They are not so the impact of this loss is not as large as it would had been by a returning team.

cuban, they in the league now so it matters, the top two teams in mwc are boise and sd state, this was a direct big east 3 vs mwc 3 or 4, the loss imho was significant, uconn picked to finish 7th loosing to an 11 ranked fcs team which will move higher isn't as bad . they a very good fcs team an mark my words will be top five soon. ambrose has done a great job there towson was huge on both sides, michigan loss to an fcs.03-banghead
Fresno was picked by some to win their conference while Rutgers is not in the AAC pecking order. I actually think Rutgers helped the cause by their showing.

You can try to spin it anyway you want to but losing to a 1AA team at home by the score UConn did its a bad blow for the league and its not even close to the Rutgers loss.
Face it and move on. Any loss to a 1AA school is a huge blow to the league.

You can’t be serious about Temple. There is no bigger fan of Temple than I, however, a new head coach who never coached a game as a HC at any level, a complete new staff, new systems on both sides of the ball, a starting QB who hasn’t yet thrown a pass in a college game, 2 running backs that are unproven, a special teams make over with a new punter, place kicker, and kick off man as well as a new punt and kickoff return man, a number of starters from last season in new positions this season, a defense from last year that was one of the worst against the pass in the country, and they are a 30 point underdog on the road, against a team that lost in the national championship game last season and ranked 14th in the country.

Oh yeah, Temple definitely should keep it close, this is their 12th game “in the big leagues”. 01-wingedeagle
lmao rutgers is not the 3rd best team in the AAC. Its clear though UConn might be the worst.
Miami, VT, WV, Notre Dame and the C7 Basketball Schools. Ahhhh

UConn is clearly the worst loss of Week 1 for the AAC but the Rutgers loss is the biggest lost opportunity.

There are 4* match ups in Week 1 where the AAC can make some noise. Rutgers@Fresno St, Texas Tech@SMU, Purdue@Cinci, Ohio@Lville. These are games against good opponents that the AAC team will either be favored in or will have a good chance to win. Of those 4 games Rutgers is the only one on the road and Fresno St might be the best of the 4 opponents. In that regard I think the Rutgers game is the biggest lost opportunity for the AAC in Week 1.

*my apologies to Temple, but with all the changes I don't see them being competitive with a team like ND in Week 1. I'll be rooting for the Owls nonetheless.

you shoot ure mouth off dude w/out doin your research, 13 recruiting u had 8 3 star recruits an the rest two star, you got a head coach good enough to coach in the pro's, you got good young talent, tell me u havent brought in better recruits03-lmfao your coach reminds me of edsall, he didn't have head coaching experience an look what he did at uconn. kelly coached at grand valley state..

you got a lot of good young talent playin against nd an nd lost people to, so stfu before u open your mouth.
SMU. Embarrassing performance in a prime time Friday night ESPN televised game against a team with a new coach and a walk-on QB. Pathetic. Fire Jones, Hart and Turner!

Jeezz Louise, why even try to sugarcoat it? UConn's was an abysmal loss and you know it. We got manhandled at home by an FCS team. AN FCS TEAM. Anything RU did isn't even in the same realm.

And should RU even be in the discussion of affecting conference prestige? They and the Ville are bolting for greener pastures at year's end.

Don't look now, but CAA teams Villanova and William & Mary are taking it to ACC Boston College and Big XII West Virginia. Perhaps UConn's loss is not quite as embarrassing to CAA Towson after all.
MW > B1G imo
UConn's loss was devastating. It's one thing to lose on a bad ref call, or an unlucky bounce. But to get pushed around like that? Embarrassing.

99% of it is coaching. Pasqualoni will be gone in December. But now we're in the very, very early stages of looking for a coach and rebuilding. And unlike the NFL, if you finish with a bad record you don't get high draft picks in FBS. There's no benefit to finishing 2-10.
