At least most of the programs in the AAC can say we're surpassing the UMiami in some things...

YOLO. There is other stuff to do. I think there is a Rick Ross or Flo-rida concert Yo!
Playing in that 80k seat stadium is going to kill their program.

Yep, and they don't get it. Never will.
Pretty amazing how they are playing the game with the band on the field... (guys, this photo's either before the game or during halftime).

According to Stub Hub there were only a little over 1,000 tickets remaining for this game.

They need it for the FSU game.
unless it's a highly ranked opponent or Florida / Florida State that place is EMPTY anymore... moving their games there has been a disaster of epic proportions!

LOL! There was only 1,000 tickets remaining on Stubhub and not Ticketmaster. It was not 1,000 away from a sellout.

and you shouldn't have 1,000 tickets on stubhub before the game. That means you couldn't even dump them for near free.
do they leave the blow up helmet in the endzone for the whole game too?

I'm all for dumping on the U but this is obviously a pregame photo.
agree
Precisely why the Miami Bowl is an awful idea. The locals won't support it, and it is a long way to travel for most fanbases.

Marlins stadium is a different animal. It would hold around 30k for football. UCF and USF would draw decent crowds against the Big 10/PAC 12

Don't go by Stub Hub tix remaining. That's a secondary resale site, not a primary ticket seller. Meaning folks have to purchase tickets first from the school or affiliated outlet like Ticketmaster before selling. Sometimes more tickets for sale is an indicator of actual sales. In fact it's the place to get tix after a sellout.

When Miami's then retiring (and soon dying) AD decided to move the Canes games to Joe Robbie, that was the worst decision in their football program history.

Miami should have spent the last 10 years raising $$$$ to build a 45,000-50,000 seat stadium on their side of town...who's stadium might have been shared with FIU...and would have been the right fit for a MAJORITY of Cane's games.

Tens of thousands of empty seats at Joe Robbie will always be the Paul Dees (former AD who made this very important decision during the final months of service) Curse.
It's like this most games. A running joke.

What choice did they have?.....where did they move their games from?

Orange Bowl when it still existed. They need to play at Marlins Park which is on the site of the old Orange Bowl at least. JRS is too far away from their campus.
Announced attendance over 50k I heard it on their radio game telecast even bragged about it.
