I drive past three high schools on my way to work each day. The last couple of weeks I have seen the guys for the morning session of two a days, and I think to myself, how in the hell did I never do that?
Gotta want it!
Good to see. Memphis, and the South in general, and America as well, need to improve the traditional, sedentary lifestyle that culminates in the abhorrent obesity rates. Thankfully more and more facilities are in place to accommodate this, and the attitudes are changing to promote activity and discourage/shame laziness. Next step is healthy diets, rejection of GMO's and processed foods. On that note, it appears there are more and more farmer's markets in the Memphis area, which is a plus, as well as several non-profits and community organizations supporting similar goals.

As a vegetarian, I have seen the movement toward more healthy eating over the past few years also. More and more grocery stores are offering health food/vegetarian sections and restaurants are slowly coming around too.
Saw Frank unloading some heavy-azz somethings in boxes yesterday (I asked him what they were and he said it's things they use in training) and he was lifting these like they were nothing....made me realize our basketball guys are doing their sand work-outs while carrying these heavy-azz things in this weather...ugh.

Nice! We and the South have a ways to go, but we're headed in the right direction. I'm impressed with the growth of Project Greenfork, as well as gardens like the one in Broad. Need to just keep it up relentlessly!
