Quote:For the first time in Ford Stadium history, the facility's ticket sales office will be closed on game day, as the ESPN-televised, Friday-night showdown between SMU and Texas Tech is SOLD OUT. All reserved seats have been claimed as well as an additional 3,000 GA/lawn passes.

"Over 24 hours until kick-off and the game is officially sold out," SMU A.D. Rick Hart (@AD_RickHart) tweeted. "(It's the) first advance sellout since the opening of Ford. Thank you fans!" He followed with, "Thanks also to our staff and strategic partners. Their dedication and efforts made (this) sellout a reality."

Can't believe the A&M-SMU wasn't an advanced sell out last season. I will be heading to Dallas around 3:30PM and look forward to the game.
It wasn't a sell out as we added seats. Nice try though
Well in fairness, the Ponys fans thought they had no chance of winning that game

I think you and JML are the same
If we were then we have extreme bipolar since one of us is rooting for Tech and the other for SMU :)

You are a surprising poster. Every time I think you're going to $#!t all over a G5 school you prove me wrong.

Good for the Pony's I hope they pull of the W. I love a good test in week one and am glad it'll be on TV. I hope to go visit y'all for an away game one year.

Time to make a statement!

DALLAS (SMU) - For the first time in Ford Stadium history, the facility's ticket sales office will be closed on game day, as the ESPN-televised, Friday-night showdown between SMU and Texas Tech is SOLD OUT. All reserved seats have been claimed as well as an additional 3,000 GA/lawn passes.

10th and I are nothing alike. Not starting a flame war, just stating facts. I graduated from Tech, he is/or will be going to TCU and roots for the aggies.

Normally, TCU fans don't root for SMU and vice versa. 10th wants to see Tech lose and I have no problem with that. I hope TCU and A&M lose every game as well. Just the way it is in Texas.
Good for SMU to get Ford sold out. I know a lot of those fans will be TTU fans but still to have that kind of atmosphere on the SMU campus cannot hurt anything. I really believe that SMU has a decent chance to win this game.
My point still stands.

Our game didnt sell out because Pony felt they had no chance of defeating A&M

They dont seem to have the same fear about the Tech game.
The A&M-SMU game didn't sellout, because: 1. They jacked up the ticket prices to $95, and 2. No one knew who Johnny football was at the time.

The folks in Lubbock figure it's driving distance to Dallas and their bodies can rehydrate in 60pct plus humidity and while they are there they can get the dust out of their lungs before heading back to gods country.

I wonder how many UH fans show up at Reliant to watch Southern tonight? 20K? 25K?
Should be a good game.

26,205 in 71K seat Reliant Stadium. Good job by the Coog faithful. 01-ncaabbs

Meanwhile, Tech fans showed up in force and sold out Ford Stadium. 34,790 in a 32K seat stadium.

Was actually pretty good, loud and cozy. It is also the floor this year, attendance will only go up. Meanwhile, no one wants to criticize Miami.....

Miami isn't fighting for a spot in a power conference. UH is and only had 26K for a season opener.
