Any news on Nancy leaving? Can't buy tickets until she's gone!

Nobody else wants her.

Not soon enough for most of us.

To say that the BOT is in her court might be the understatement of the year. At 2 recent meetings on campus, she praised Dr. Steger for the building of the new UC but went on to say that academics suffered over the last 20 years -- a direct slam at Dr. Steger.

Unfortunately, the BOT have bought into what she is saying and the initial results of UC|21 won't be known until after her current contract expires. That tells me that she will be here quite a bit longer than any of us would like.

If we are stuck with this ding dong for the immediate future, we should all, at least, start a collection to send her to a Dale C. class

She doesn't have the class of Mr Carnegie.

I don't know why she even wants to stay here. I'm sure she gets heckled everywhere she goes, and she can't travel to a UC event without armed security. She might eventually decide the fight isn't worth it anymore. You can say what you want about the peope in Cincy, but they know how to hold a grudge. No matter what she does now, doesn't matter how good it is, she won't be accepted into this community.

You're implying that because the basketball team might be subpar next year, Nancy's job will be in jeopardy. The basketball team's success or lack thereof will have absolutely no influence on whether her contract is renewed or not.

Alright, well, I read the last paragraph of your original statement about the 'Joe Blow standpoint' and it sounded like you were saying her contract would be renewed based on the happiness of the fans/success of the basketball team. If that wasn't your intention, I'm sorry I misinterpreted. As for what you just said about her image becoming worse and worse in the eyes of the fans, you'll find no argument from me.

I hate to burst your bubble, but Zimpher was hired specifically to boost the academic standing of the University. If I recall, she actually got a bonus during her last review.

While everyone wants to think Zimpher is the worst thing to ever happen to UC, if you look past basketball it will depress you to know that enrollment is up, academic rankings are up significantly, donations to the University are up, student satisfaction as measured by an extensive third party survey is up, admissions standards are up...

It's really sad people are reducing her performance to what happens with the basketball program. I think the whole point of her hiring was to get people to think about UC in terms other than basketball.

Disagree, Sluggur. Not only did she lump all of Huggs players into the same trash heap, but she also denigrated those of us who earned degrees before her arrival ("Let me use my toolkit to enchance this degree's 'brand equity'"). May she shouldn't "apologize for higher standards", but she needs to do so for her gross lack of tact.

Of course, none of us really need to listen to her. How many of you degree holders out there are doing just fine in life? I'll be the first: "me."

I'd like to see the student satisfaction numbers, because all the polls by the Enquirer and News Record (granted, they are unscientific) show the students not being happy by a margin of 3 to 1. I'd be shocked if 50% of the student body was united behind her at this moment in time.
