wow...that 2-deep as listed makes us look pretty young on D, especially in the secondary.

2 Soph's, a Jr, and a Sr starting doesn't sound too young for the secondary. And the # of games and starts isn't bad.
I'm surprised to not see Emelien on the 2-deep. I also see on the team roster he's listed as a Safety now.

He was a top 15 Safety coming out of HS. Coaches did some great shuffling with Haden and Coleman out.

True but I was looking at the 2-deep and 3 of the 4 backups in the secondary are true frosh and the 4th is a redshirt frosh. That seems pretty young.
Apparently the "experts" were right when the Toledo recruiting classes of the past couple year were rated at the top of the MAC. Now it is time to prove that top recruiting classes can produce results on the field. I hope the Florida coaches were planning to play v the old March depth chart.
The depth chart included the following:
Seniors=12
Juniors=20
Sophs=10
Frosh=15

Shouldn't next year be our big year?????????????????????07-coffee3
The playmakers are seniors, plus Reedy is a double dip in the return game. Lots of good talent challenging the team veterans.

This is the year on offense. Next year is the year on defense. BUT just because next seasons offense is an unknown doesn't mean we will be bad. Hopefully a new era starts with MACC's this season!
Heck, the 2's are young many positions. Special Teams is mature which is a good thing. Conditioning is going to be an issue with the true freshman, maybe not as much with the RS's. Where is Kishon going to play? I like Madison at SS. Whitaker got some experience last year; hope he is ready to shine.
The D-Line is a talented bunch. I believe the coaching staff really did some work to bring this together. I am glad to see Harper and Bush on the 2-Deep at LB. The young DB talent is gonna push the starters. This all should work out well.

The O-Line is also solid. I haven't heard much lately about Jeppsen, but he showed up on the 2 -Deep. Nkansah was a real nice get for the Rockets. Again, it makes sense from recruiting talk. Lots of talent on the O-Line. Rosenbauer must be playing lights out. There is a lot of talent behind him. I hope Cassius McDowell had an off-season that turns his Junior year very Adonis Thomas. Jones and Adams made the two-deep at wide out. The videos I have seen of Jones are really impressive. Toledo WR starters are gonna be great, but there shouldn't be much drop-off.

Looks very competitive. All Toledo needs to do is be smart, and execute. Should be a great year.

Go Rocketss!!
Always the person that looks ahead as well as the one that always fears the worst...but I have a feeling we'll see a new coaching staff forming here in December and January. I know, I know...enjoy the fun while it lasts but this is a group of coaches that I want to see us hang onto for a very long time because of this exact reason. This is going to be a very fun season regardless of how the first couple games turn out.
