OK if you are going to Maryland you know how to get tickets. The real question is parking. I ran across this site (http://www.transportation.umd.edu/fballparking.html) to get my parking passes for Maryland. I opted for the Regents Drive garage as it looks pretty close to Byrd Stadium. $17 was my total cost for a parking pass. I'm not sure what the deal is with tailgating in the garage but I don't really have any plans to drag all my tailgate gear to Maryland so the point was moot for me.
I'm going to the game, but don't want to pay $17 in parking. Does anybody know of alternative options?
I wonder if metro is an option. I know they have a station in college park, but have no idea how close it is to the actual campus.
There are busses that pick up at Metro College Park on gameday and drop you a short walking distance from the stadium. At least that's what they say on UMD website. Pretty sure that's how my party of 4 is going to travel from NoVA
Thanks for the link, ODU2K1. I hadn't gotten around to looking at the parking situation yet. This is very helpful.

I'm not sure how much of a demand there will be for parking. I've never attended a UMD game. However, I know their crowds have been dwindling with the past few years as their losses have mounted, so I'm not expecting it to be too tough to find something. Honestly, $17 doesn't sound like much to me. Beats the heck out of waiting for a crowded bus IMO. I'm a proponent of getting in, getting out and getting on with my day as quickly as possible.

Both my tickets were only $23.95 with fees on Stubhub!
It's only 1.9 miles from the Metro, mostly through the campus. Unless the weather is bad, I'll probably hike it since I've never seen the campus anyway. Plus I'll probably be antsy after a long Metro trip from Springfield.
Oh...second sort of related note...if anyone is going to the Pitt game, there is parking available in the Rivers Casino next door to the stadium. There are also a variety of lots and garages within a few blocks of the stadium from which to choose. It's a nice neighborhood, so no worries about walking through the hood.

Parking has been far and away the most expensive part of game day at Maryland.
Yikes, on second thought, I'll probably drive. That Metro trip is 1 hour and 40 minutes.
I may park at the metro station for $4.50 and walk to the stadium. I could use the exercise.

And Springfield is on the other ass end... but I'm not sitting on the train for that long after sitting in the car for 2.5 hours. I like the idea of parking at the College Park Metro for $4.50 and hiking it if laziness doesn't overcome my wife.
That's about a 1.6mile, 40min walk from College Park Metro. The bus runs every 5 minutes.

I got 4 tickets for $39 on StubHub. I also got a parking pass on StubHub with shipping and fees for $36 haha. the good news is that it's a premium lot near the stadium and we can tailgate.
I've been reading reviews of inconvenient parking and the difficulty of finding a good space. I'm determined to get a spot that's not in a garage and will need 2-3 vehicles to fit a large group of people. I'm highly considering getting a few spots from stubhub but am not sure which lot or lots our fans will congregate. Anybody have confirmed parking yet?

JMU was a blast because we filled the back corner of the convocation lot. I'd love to see a similar scenario at College Park! 04-cheers
My parking pass is for lot 1 or 1B ....can't remember. Anyone else get tickets on stub hub? My first time....how will it work and when will i get my tickets? I picked the download ticket option....did I goof up? The only option for the parking pass was UPS.
Lot 1B for me and my crew. Let's take over the Terps.
Tedhead.....I promise not to sell my tailgate pass to VCU fans.
I purchased my tickets through the alumni association. They have a preparty along with a game ticket. I will most likely drive. May also be going with a Terps fan.
