I hope they can play the Chameleon Bowl within a day of the GoDaddy Bowl. It could make a nice two-stop bowl trip to Alabama.

I guess it's a good name for a bowl. You can put Chameleons in a bowl.

They might not stay there though. You could have Chameleons all over the place.
03-yawn What if they held a bowl game and nobody showed up.

Is this the best MAC could come up with?
Played in a 25,000 seat stadium in Sunbelt's back yard. I guess they don't expect MAC teams to travel well and why should they. I don't see much excitement surrounding this "hotspot" destination.

Must be the smallest stadium used by any of the bowl games. I'd rather see a half-filled Ford Field than a Div. II playoff stadium.
Can you fly into Montgomery easily from Chicago, Detroit?
I think a smaller but alive stadium beats a mostly empty cavernous pro stadium for atmosphere.

This would work if it were something the community there gets behind- that's something that helps Mobile and Boise. But this being an ESPN owned game makes me think they picked the location because it was the cheapest rent for a stadium that size in the South. So who knows if the area will embrace it.
Montgomery supported the Blue Gray college all star game for years.

Yes. Non stop flights were 437pp round trip on Expedia. That is 100 less perperson than going to Miami... But this is no Orange bowl and I will no doubt watch this one from home.
Is this replacing the LCPB for the MAC? Meaning the number #1 team either gets to go to a bowl in southern Alabama or central Alabama.

Sorry it's a pre Christmas bowl.
This will be the laughing stock of the whole bowl season. 25,00 seat bowl--what a joke. Is that all we can ever get is the sunbelt? It probably won't last long anyway.
What a bowl-yuck. Even Iowa wouldn't go there, if they ever get to 6 wins.
Whether it's 20 degrees in Hooville, Iowa or DeKalb IL....Montgomery Al is a nicer, warmer place in December. I will go if NIU were to make this bowl.[/php]
This is pitiful. They should call this "Sun Belt Fan Appreciation Bowl."

Montgomery, Alabama is bad enough. But December? Should really attract a lot of folks from up North.
Here is the deal. We have nothing against playing you. The other conferences want to minimize contact with you...and us...in bowl season. Blame them.

So let's make the best of it and try to support each other and our bowl.
Pre-Christmas..... I hate those bowl games(in terms of traveling to them)..
are we a bowl team in 2014????

This will likely put the #3/#4 MAC team vs the #3/#4 Sun Belt team right?

We better be...
Since both the Camelia Bowl & the Go Daddy Bowl both have Mac & Sun Belt tie-in, will they alternate years where one bowl gets the Mac/SB champs and the other gets the runner ups?
