JP REVOLUTION STARTS NOW!!!

JP looked shakey at times, just like Brown did. Some of their problems may have been an improved defense and also some new receivers running routes that differed from what the QB expected. Regardless of the disparity in stats, I'd have to say the 1:1 competition was a draw last night.
Who's the 1's and 2's?
I think JP gives us the best chance to win today. Same as last year. Will McGee see it that way. Probably not.
He hinted at a two QB system here.

Will do more harm than good, IMO. Just pick one, then live and die by the decision.

JP looked better with the 2 & 3's than AB. Maybe that because of his mobility

Yep, don't keep hurt QB's out. (Hand Cramps, leg/ankle, groin injuries) Why was Reaves out with this new team concept? Still sucks not to see 15 out there.

I couldn't disagree more about the two QB system. The statement McGee said last year that JP and Austin were virtually the same guy was not correct in my opinion. I just wished McGee had said Austin fits the system
better. Both have a vastly different skill set, thus could make defenses have to prepare for more. For the two QB system to work it takes two unselfish guys. That describes JP and Austin. They work well together and the team has shown a willingness to get behind them both. I think a mapped out plan using both benefits us. McGee has hinted at that as well.

Regardless of whether or not we go with the 2 QB system any doubt should lead to the statement HCGM made. Make teams prepare for 2 QBs until things are definite...

There is already a #15 back out there though it isn't JW. My thoughts on Darrin was that he had some kind of pulled muscle so they held him out & wanted to let others get some reps to see what they could do. Callaway had a good scrimmage (I've not looked at stats yet) so he might be a good fill in for Coles

UAB went 3-9 ("died") by effectively "picking one" last season. If we get to the end of August with no decision, then we might not have one this whole season. Besides, the point of having more than one QB ready is to have strength by numbers (depth) at all positions.
Jp throws like Joe Webb at all times, Over their heads, below the knees, behind the receiver, skips the ball across ground. This is with the first team. He's a different qb with the 2nd and 3rd team.

AB standing still in the pocket, He will hit every receiver in the numbers. Push him out of the pocket, he doesn't run and gets destroyed by someone he didn't see approaching. Cannot throw on the run, or hes careless to throw on the run. On a play last nite where staples was 30 yards down the field, and he threw a pick about 15 yards from line of scrimmage.

When you expect your o-line to get the better of d-line. Put in Austin Brown.
When you expect your o-line to struggle. Put in Jp. He may not be accurate but at least he makes the right decisions and can pick up yards with his feet.
Repeatedly last night AB did not break and run when the WR's were covered and it was wide open in front of him. I just don't know if it was because he was tunnelvisioned on the throw or because the coaches told him not to run with it.
Big 77 last nite was used at left tackle on goal line package. Talk about all bark with no bite. 6-6 315 Victor Salako, of course, hes a redshirt freshman. Some of u claimed coaches think he has nfl potential. Which shocked me since UAB was the only one after him out of high school.
Sometimes I wonder if we are all watching the same players on the field or if some of us believe we have more talent than whats actually on the field.
Salako started at tackle. McCants was a tuba player and only played football as HS Sr...just sayin'.
Don't forget McCants was coached by Will Friend.

LOL a walk-on notice when I read one of the stories. (I thought that was funny) Notice the positive stories lately about Staples ,Humphrey ,and Nelson since JW departure.

Sounds the same from last season hopefully this weaker schedule will help. If Calloway is carrying the rock like I read then the defense may be the same. Also sounds like JP should start but you never know.
Calloway didn't get carries with the 1st team. Howard did. Howard is a big boy.
To be honest, thought our 1st team run d played well last nite. How they play against troy is a different story. Troy ran wild last year. One thing I recall from last years troy game. We only scored when it was raining and troy only scored when it wasn't.
