Correct, Weatherspoon (sp) and Drummond are good to go.........COGS
Drummond has had high praise from Coach K but sounds like Witherspoon has some catching up to do. Still he gives us the athletic front liner Smith never ended up being. Smith can roam the perimeter more with several legit bigs to do the dirty work inside.
Stony Brook should have made it last year. They choked big time in the America East tournament in the semifinals after dominating the conference in the regular season. It was another argument against conference tournaments determining the bid for one-bid conferences. Stony Brook won the conference regular season by three games.
I think you're absolutely right about the conference tournaments.
Weatherspoon isn't a great offensive player, but much like Craig Sutter's will be a beast on the boards and a major dunker. Craig had very little touch or range to his game. In the MAC J.D. will be atleast a threat in conference games. Big difference from being 6'6" with limited skills offensively in B1G and the MAC.
