Well, I guess the rent at the Super Dome may be competitive with the high rise they were renting in, and, the exposure for the conference having it's name and logo on the side of the Super Dome is a whole lot better than just being on a directory in the lobby of a high rise.

You're probably right Peter. My only question is, are the presidents and chancellors of the league just allowing this guy to do anything he wants to do? They should have never allowed the contract with Hot Springs to be broken and the tournament moved until the contract had expired. I'll be shocked if the tournament draws anywhere nearly as many as it did in Hot Springs. This guy gave Hot Springs the shaft. I remember the last time the tournament was in New Orleans, the arena would be practically empty if Western, South Alabama, ASU, or Lafayette weren't playing. New Orleans team didn't draw much more than flies for their tournament games. Of course they didn't draw very many for their home games when they were in the league. Evidently hardcore N.O. resident basketball fans didn't patronize the tournament at that time. I hope the thing is a financial bust for the league.

It appears the guy has been allowed to do whatever he wants. Seems like a bad idea to just turn a guy loose who just drove the last conference he ran into oblivion!
