Just wanted to know cause a lot of guys in my fraternity definitely want to road trip up over there and witness the A*s whooping that's gona happen to the Hawkeyes on their home soil. My only thing is will these tickets be available through the school for free? Seeing that there has been an increase in the amount we pay for these sporting activities, i'd think we'd get free tickets to home and away games (especially seeing that we only have 5 home games). Anyone know the answer for this one?
No, pretty sure they aren't. Might wanna call the school or start checking Stubhub.
No chance at that.

I have 2 free tickets, but I will be asking for 210 dollar shipping and handling fee.
fees go to support athletics programs. Not provide free tickets to away games. Not sure I understand your logic.

While you only get 5 football games this year you also get access to all the other sports too....Why don't you show up at ball game or two

Is anyone else disappointed at the lack of a push to get people to Buy Iowa tickets thru NIU?

I'm more disappointed at the lack of push to get people to buy season tickets. Why advertise for another school's home game? Since I have graduated I have not received one thing in the mail about football season tickets. I follow the team pretty closely and I had to ask on here about buying season tickets. The school really needs to make it easier and more available.

Why does it matter?

Less Iowa fans and more NIU fans.

Also helps getting better bowl picks between other non-aqs

I have been pushing a young alum ticket for over a year...on top of marketing it thru the Young Alum Association.

Basically a Huskie Land ticket that is just repackaged as a youg Alum ticket for the East side since most outside of here don't know they can do that already.

Yup and other than the CPC countdown where they "hope to see you in the stands vs Iowa" I have not seen any info on buying tickets for Iowa for non season ticketholders other than the original release. You wouldn't even know that we had a block of tickets.

Pushing season tickets for the West side does not make a new alum interested who loves the East side.

Buy one or two fewer kegs and spend less money on your after-shave as part of getting with the real world, and stop expecting to get things for free. Since you're obviously trying to just jump on the Huskie bandwagon, Iowa students (or those at other major programs) still have to buy season or single-game tickets even though they also have activity fees in their bill. IF you attended the Soldier Field game or watched it on TV or read about the 62K in attendance, it's because Iowa fans (drunk, uncouth or otherwise) -- students included -- bought tickets and car-pooled to Chicago. Hope you actually make it to them just to see how students should support their school, even one that has no chance of winning its conference.

OK douche bag, this was a general quesiton. I've been a student at NIU since 2010 but didn't really go to any away games because of class and not having the money to make the trip. Im on the Dean's list and dont drink you piece of ****. You're going to stereotype just because I said Fraternity, are you serious. I'm not used to getting anything for free seeing that I'm an Independent student and have taken out a nice chunk of debt in Student Loans. Was a simple question that was answered, didn't need your pointless ******* response. People like you are what make people in Greek Life not friendly toward non-Greeks. If you haven't realized, besides people on this board, the Fraternities and Sororities are the largest group of NIU athletics supporters. I went to the game at Soldier Field and clearly knew that was a Neutral Site game, so I had already bought my ticket, and yeah, there were a bunch of Iowa fans because a lot of suburban kids end up either going to Iowa, Mizzou, or the Illness, so trust me, a lot of the Iowa fans that went probably didn't drive as far as you think they had to (seeing that a lot were from Illinois). I'm also pretty sure that Iowa students and kids at "Major Programs" do get free entrance to home games, just as we do, but i wasn't 100% sure about popular away games such as this one, that's y i asked the question. Ticket to the Orange Bowl was FREE for students, all we had to do was pay for the travel and hotel basically. Do some research before you talk ****.
Tickets at larger schools are not always free. If ever. My cousin goes to auburn and they pay approx 250 a year for a ticket and this is not student fees paid.

Just because a lot of suburban kids go to school at Iowa, Mizzou, etc. doesn't mean anything since Iowa had its move-in date before the game at Soldier Field, so it's possible even the suburban kids at Iowa had to make the trip to Chicago from Iowa City with a stopover to see mommy and daddy. DO SOME RESEARCH YOURSELF, Iowa students do not get in free for their home games, you say you're "pretty sure" because you don't know. Well I DO KNOW! While I don't consider one education (B1G or otherwise) to be superior to any other, I attended a so-called BCS major and I PAID FOR MY SEASON TICKETS AS A STUDENT. Do some more research and you'll find out that NIU was unique and exceptional in "buying" Orange Bowl tickets to give to their students. Yes, you only paid for your travel and hotel because those tickets you and other students "used" were already paid for ... some by supporters like me. Do any research and you would have known NIU athletics asked alums, supporters, fans, etc. to give $$$ toward those tickets. Yes, I actually bought some OB tickets and donated them to students in lieu of not being able to get off from work to attend, but now I regret that an ungrateful douche bag like you went on my dime. If you seriously follow this board, then you know from other threads that not even every member of the MAC supports the "ticket exchange" deal for students.
Guess I am enough of a dinosaur to not understand how you can be "an Independent student" and yet make a post that reads "a lot of guys in my fraternity...."
Once you do some research, ask your friends (greek or otherwise) at other major schools how often they get free bowl game tickets.
And guess what, I was on the Dean's List in my day as well, earned academic scholarships and beyond my freshman year, paid out-of-state tuition as well as all other expenses for a double-major. People like you asking for things free is what makes a lot of us who have been paying for things all our lives sick. You have NO IDEA how much I sacrificed for my education and since. You also have NO IDEA what it's like paying property taxes and everything else, so spare me the lecture until you have additional years of budgeting experience.
Everyone is too crabby.

Soon we will be 14 days away from kickoff!

I smell a troll in this thread, but yes, we need kickoff. I had a nightmare last night that might cause me to reevaluate my fandom. I overslept for the Iowa game and got there late in the 3rd quarter but Iowa had already blown it up, but then leaving the game everyone felt better because it was announced it was a preseason scrimmage and the real game would be the following week. Very weird!
