... in Collegiate Licensing Company's ranking of institutions with top-selling collegiate merchandise sold on behalf of CLC-represented institutions or the past year (July 2012 - June 2013).

UT-Austin is #1, for the 8th consecutive year. Duke is 34th; Stanford is 42nd; Vanderbilt is 58th.

CLC does not license merchandise from Ohio State, Michigan State, University of Southern California or Oregon.

Does CLC license Rice gear?
Not surprising to me. In the absence of nationwide appeal/sales, the students, alumni, families etc. would likely be large contributors to sales. Something we cannot rely on.
Need teams other than baseball to step up to the plate. For example, Rice Men's Tennis is NOT in the Top 75. In fact Rice Men's Tennis is unranked whereas Men's Tennis at Duke, Vanderbilt, Texas, and Stanford are ranked 7, 15, 23, and 40 respectively. This is unacceptable.

Houston is one of the strongest cities in the USA in terms of adults and children who play tennis so it would not be very difficult to get an audience, but very few go to watch the Rice Men's Tennis team because the team lacks positive energy, excitement, talent, and leadership, and thus a winning record. At least the scoreboard should work this year with the new stadium. With the above fixes, I'd be honored to buy my children some Rice Tennis merchandise.
