I saw another article saying they're pushing this to be played in Charleston South Carolina , Which would be an awesome venue

I'm in.
Charleston- sign me up.

Montgomery? Not so interested.
For real. If it has to be a non-BCS game, send me to Charleston against whoever, please.
Charleston is not likely because of the whole NCAA ban due to the confederate flag being flown by the state.
Charleston is a wonderful tourist destination.
No offense to the Sun Belt, but I would love to see at least one of the bowl games against the AAC or Conference USA.
It wad my understanding that the game in Montgomery would replace the bowl game in Mobile..
I'm pretty sure it would be in addition to the Mobile game.
You are right..it replaces the Lil Caesars Bowl...

That stadium looks not great...hopefully they will reconsider the Alabama St site.

Also looking to add "Rice Bowl" in Arkansas...Sun Belt vs Mac
The only bad thing is that these games are in the heart of the Sun Belt. They will easily out-attendance the MAC team.

Isn't that the case regardless of where the bowl game or NIu plays?

I think the Rice Bowl is a no go as the MAC was at best luke warm on the game and I am not sure a television partner was secured. Last I read it was the MAC game if they wanted it and they weren't interested. The group that was originally trying to pull off the game in Montgomery is the one that is now looking at a Charleston (Legends Bowl). Another group, which is partnering with ESPN, is looking at the current game in Montgomery.

I found it interesting that as soon as word got out that a potential Charleston game is mentioned with NBC Sports as the television partner, there is mention of a game in Montgomery with ESPN in the fold. As there is really no chance of both of these games getting off the ground, since both are targeting the MAC vs Sun Belt, I really hope Charleston gets off the ground. The new Montgomery group is looking at playing in a 100 year old stadium which I believe only holds 25K and is completely rundown from what I read. The last thing we need is a second Alabama based game against the Sun Belt, and one in a less than ideal stadium just so ESPN can add another game to their lineup.

Not if you had a bowl game in Indianapolis.
