Torrez Wentz, a 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive tackle from Warren County in Georgia, became the 17th player to verbally commit to sign with ODU on Feb. 5. NCAA rules limit ODU to signing 25 players ODU signed 37 in its incoming class this season, but was allowed a higher number because it is transitioning to the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Several SEC schools, including Kentucky, are recruiting him but have not offered. Wentz said if any offer him, he's still coming to ODU. "Once I make a commitment, I stick to it," he said
