The University of Montana at 54?? Uh, wut?
We have gone down a few due to our latest season results.
Georgetown and Villanova look like they top 2 in the Big East. I am not sure if the others schools are part of the licensing agreement but one of my arguments was that the football schools have more merchandising opportunities which helps bring in revenue.

Miami FL at #39....how the mighty have fallen
Unfortunately SMU has their thumb way up their asses when it comes to licensing. My wife had a chat with a college retailer at the Dallas Galleria why very little SMU gear. My wife questioned why a certain product (maybe a phone case, don't really know) came in every team such as Aggies, Tech, Longhorns, TCU, etc but SMU. The shop owner stated that SMU would not approve the license and SMU is hard to deal with. Way to go Mustangs!
Also, who is buying TCU gear? I don't think I have ever seen a TCU shirt.

Well, they have quite the nice following in DFW. But hopefully they start to fade.

The Grizzlies are a successful flagship program of their state. They average over 25K a game which is pretty remarkable considering they play in the FCS. Unlike state like Ohio, North Carolina and Florida which has 5-8 FBS schools, it is basically them and Montana State.

It has been pretty well documented that they declined invitations to join the FBS level in the past.
did I miss it or is Ohio State not in the top 75? how is that possible?

I've only seen one that I can remember...

Their entire state also has just over 1 million people. Not sure how they can be in between UConn and ECU.

They never are when these lists come out. My guess is that "The Colegiate Licensing Company" handles most schools, but not all and thus the list is only partial.

With a quick look through, it seems Michigan State, Iowa, North Carolina State, USC, Oregon, and probably several others are not included.

This is JUST for teams under the Collegiate Licensing Company umbrella. NC State isn't listed either because they aren't represented by them.

Correct-- those schools are under contract with Licensing Resource Group (LRG).
One thing to note is that this list only includes colleges and universities that are licensed through the Collegiate Licensing Company. For example, the following schools aren't CLC clients and therefore are not included in the rankings.

ACC (N.C. State)
Big 10 (Ohio State, Indiana, Michigan State, Iowa)
Big 12 (Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas State)
Big East (Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Marquette, St. John's, Seton Hall, Xavier)
Pac 12 (USC, Oregon)
SEC team (Mississippi State)
