As painful as it is, I find myself watching the OB over and over (especially the 3rd quarter). Can't wait to have some new games DVRd soon.
Once was enough, but thanks, Redd.
I bought a copy on DVD....watched it once but turned it off after the first few minutes of the 4th. Up until then it was a pretty entertaining game.
Yeah, I find myself shutting it off every time after the JL pick that ended the momentum.
Still have not watched any replay of this game. Can't get myself to do it.

Sent from my iPhone.
I never watch replays of games we lost. However, I made an exception with the OB, and I even bought the DVD. There was so much excitement and we had so much fun on the trip, that the game did not mean as much as it usually does for me. Usually, my wife and I get VERY upset with the bowl losses, and the trip is ruined for us if we lose. However, this one was different. The excitement of getting to the OB and the national attention made it so memorable. My wife and I were even talking about the Miami trip this weekend and said we were so glad we went (even though it cost us an arm and a leg).
I honestly have watched the game almost every other week....not the whole thing and I fast forward through the duller times....but just seeing NIU in a BCS bowl game is still soooooo mind blowing...thinking about getting to NIU in 2002, not really appreciating that season when we were ranked #10-#12 at one point....It was always just thought that NIU would never be in such a position as they were this past January 1st...It is still hard for me to believe it happened...

As for the game-play, I am not down on the team...there were many plays left on the field (the bomb to Martell Moore overthrown in 1st q, the blatent pass interference by xavier rodes on moore that would have set the team up 1st and goal from the 1, the INT)....It was actually a game! And NIU drove the field on 2 seperate occasions for the TD and the FG....I have it on my DVR and I love it cause it's gotten me thru the offseason

Did they ever make a blu-ray of the game? When I preordered the game it was supposed to be blu-ray, DVD & Digital copy but then it later changed to just the DVD. I think the OB was the only one of the BCS games not to come out in blu ray
Only time I don't mind seeing this matchup again is when I schedule them week 1 on NCAA 14 and beat the living hell out of them
Bump.

It's on tonight.
I still have it on DVR from the original recording, but I have not been able to bring myself around to watching it again. Even though the 2013 Huskies embodied the Peter Principle, it at least took a BCS bowl for them to hit the wall.
Watch it...it doesn't really hurt until the fumble...

I watched a little of it last night. They didn't show the entire game (due to time constraints). The fake punt was sweet. I turned it off shortly after the onside kick.

Good for you guys, to enjoy it. It's such a rare and phenomenal thing to occur, that despite the result, there is much to enjoy.

That said, I don't think I can ever watch it again. It still hurts.

See, the thing is I expected us to lose - big time. Of course, I wanted us to win, cheered for us until I was hoarse, and was upset when we lost. But, I wasn't as upset as I usually am. We were just so glad to be there that it was a memorable trip. There were many memorable things, such as the police escort from the Fontainebleau to Sun Life.

What really get me upsets is when we lose to a team we have a good chance of beating. Then, the trip is not so nice.
We were never going to be allowed to win that game. When we had ANY momentum it was quickly beat down by the refs. We watched it a couple weeks after we got home from Miami ...used slo mo, stopped plays to get a good look. Yea. I can't watch it again.

It was a monumental trip - a huge part of NIU history and I have never regretted our family going without Christmas gifts & making other sacrifices to be there. It really was the trip of a lifetime.

Just curious...but while you were watching the replay did you see any plays left on the field by FSU? I think both teams had plays that could have been made that were not. However, not sure if both teams had made those plays, that you can say the result would have been any different.

It was a 21 point game and I have never heard anyone blame the refs for losses like that.

NIU played great defense and kept their team in the game. The offenses for both teams never really showed up. Maybe they can play again...would love to host NIU in Tallahassee, or play at Soldier Field.

Agree, refs don't make a 21-point game in the end. NIU lost because Lynch's accuracy was not there, meaning the fantastic FSU D was able to swarm on the run plays and pretty much shut it down, which meant our D was on the field way too long against a superior athletic and physical FSU O-line, which eventually turned into some long TD runs.
Lynch was overamped for the game, that is his biggest challenge going into 2013 and especially at Kinnick. He plays poorly when he is too amped up. I hope the Huskies do a lot with crowd noise this August in practice.
