I have always thought UALR's Track and Cross Country as a Walk-On type program. I once competed several years in Road Races and Sr. Olympics. Looking at this young man's personal bests in middle distance running is impressive. I'm wondering how and why he has signed with the Trojans.
Cross country program are reigning Belt champs, aren't they?
Hey, you are right. That is a huge signing for us.

I don't know why he signed with the Trojans, but Milton Williams is a damn good coach, and we probably get more of our moneys worth out of him than we do any coach in the department, other than maybe Joe Foley. He did a heck of a job at Cabot before he came here. He's had a few athletes that could have gone with the big boys. Evidently knows talent when he sees it.

And remember he didn't even have a track to work on until last year.
I would say that right at this minute Track/CC is the top program at UALR. Is that correct? (Right at this moment.)

We obviously get more bang for the buck out of Track/CC or women's basketball. Two coaches that I don't know how we keep them. Gotta give Chris Peterson all the credit. He hired them both. I believe in giving a person all the credit when they deserve it. And criticism when they've got that coming.
