That's a great payout for ODU considering how few fans Vanderbilt puts in their own stadium.

I attended the Vandy beatdown of UT last year with a client. Largest turnout of Black and Gold I have ever witnessed at a Vandy game going all the way back to the Tulane and Virginia games I attended in '74 and '75 as a high schooler. They are having some PR problems right now because of a few bad apples but I think James Franklin really has something going on West End.

Glad we have renewed the series with them.
I guess I was wrong in that other thread. I didn't think Vandy would be up to the $1 Million level. Especially to a transitional team.

Good job to ODU on the game. Wish Wood would have gotten us games with Vandy while he was at WKU!
Nice! UTSA plays A&M in 2016 and 2019 at College Station in what'll by then be a 102,500 seat Kyle Field, and probably the flagship stadium of college football. Hopefully we'll get a nice payday as well. Guarantee we can use the money more than you guys...lol.

No stadium is overtaking the big house.

Perhaps not in size, and in the USA, but otherwise, yes it will. And people are welcome to disagree, but I'll put the atmosphere at Kyle Field against the big house ANY DAY.
Good for ODU. Hope y'all can win the game, too.

With all the $$$ that the SEC has coming in, I don't think any non-P5 program should agree to play an SEC team for one nickel less than $1m, unless it's a home-and-home.

I have never been to kyle, but The big house is so fabled and has the history. I'll just have to come judge for myself.

I always thought Kyle field was terribly designed. Who would want to be seated at the top of the endzone grand stand?
Back on topic: congrats on the payday odu.

Fair enough, dude. I've never been to the big house either, but I really think the traditions at A&M and Kyle Field will blow you away, even if you've been to Ann Arbor. It doesn't even start with game day either. It starts the night before the game with "Midnight Yell" at Kyle Field. About 40K show up for this thing. Check out the short 5-minute video below. They didn't film the whole thing, but it gives you an idea. It lasts a half hour altogether to my knowledge. And I'm not sure whether you knew, but they don't have cheerleaders at A&M; they have Yell Leaders who literally lead a multitude of chants through the course of a game with hand signals.

They no longer have their 90-year long bonfire tradition, which was the biggest one in the nation, because of the tragic collapse in '99 in which (ironically) 12 students were killed, but the rest just has to be experienced to be appreciated. Btw, they actually set a world record in '69 with their bonfire, though it has since been broken. Also, their new stadium will never be filled to capacity because 12 seats will always be left open to remember the 12 Aggies who died in '99. Goes along perfectly with their trademark 12th Man tradition anyway.

Any stadium that size has seats like that...lol.

It's interesting to read on Vandy boards calling us a cupcake.

We shall see.
If we were playing vandy in baseball I would be worried but football. They are beatable. They are sec because of the school not their football team. We can upset them.

You are in transition. Not saying you can't win but almost everybody will see you as a cupcake.

We're a performance enhanced cupcake.
Go 1-11 I don't care. Beat their ass. They've had two mediocre years in the last 120, bring 20,000 fans, take the paycheck and a W.
Vandy will be out of Bobby Johnson's redshirted players after this season, and they're left with a guy that played at Wyoming and another who quit UNC after one day at quarterback.
I didn't even know they had a board, talk about the quintessential T-shirt/Sidewalk/walmart fan... I bet those clowns can't spell Vanderbilt, atleast not without spellcheck.
