This is a completely hypothetical situation.
The P5 agree to break away and form a new subdivision/division, but leave the door open for others in FBS to join, but the caveat is that the guaranteed G5 spot in the access bowl is converted to a strictly at-large spot. Any G5 conference that chooses to hang with the P5 can get their same initial cut (5%) of the CFP pot, though. A non-P5 school would have to meet certain minimums to stay at the highest level and would only make a CFP game if they were an at-large bid or semifinal bid.
Would you be amenable to that situation?
