BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Gainesville Police Department on Tuesday filed sworn complaints against two Florida football players in connection with an altercation at a June 13 off-campus party, one week after another player was arrested and charged with felony battery as a result of another altercation at the same party.

Earl Everett, the projected starter at strongside linebacker, and backup running back Skyler Thornton were each charged with one count of misdemeanor battery. According to a police report, the two were accused of beating up a 22-year-old UF student after the student got into an argument with Thornton at a party on NW 20th Street.
