Full shelfs up here, I think the anti-gun scare was a trick so we bought a lot of guns and ammo.
Certain calibers can be hard to find. It wasn't ever an issue here anyways. Plenty of ammo if you knew where to look.
I heard there were a lot of people that had apps on their phone that would alert then when a place like Walmart got in a new shipment. They would then beat all other customers to the punch, buy up the entire stock, then resell them on sites like ebay or personal websites.
I have a couple of 22's to go plinking. Ammo is hard to find and it costs much, much more than it did last year.
My range has it available and it costs less than the stores.
Bought ballistic tip .30-06 Springfrields, 20 per box @ $49 each today. Stupid expensive, but worth every penny.
Willie Robertson on the box of every Federal case I saw (only brand on the shelves). ATK owns Federal, who ran Constellation, and is the largest supplier of medium round ammo to US Army thru use of the Radford ammunition plant. ATK just acquired the rights to Duck Dynasty's publicity rights, not long after a 2 Billion round Purchase Order by Obama & Eric Holder.
Scary when you know all of the details. FWIW, Hathaway (Warren Buffett) is the largest marker of AR assault rifles in the US. They sell for twice as much as your every day rifle. It almost makes you think who's about to get the short end of the stick. Not the white man, apparently.

Saw a stat last week - 40% of whites, 23% of blacks, 13% of hispanics. If I had to guess I would have assumed 60% of whites, 20% of blacks, 20% hispanics

Liberal = anti gun paranoia. If liberals are in control of your local government, they can influence the prices and stock of certain items.

Virginia is a fairly gun-friendly state, and NoVA doesn't have any strict gun laws that I can recall. Another theory is that people from the rest of the state, as well as Maryland and DC (where laws are much stricter), are coming to the area to buy ammo.

I've certainly never heard of a Mexican with a such a last name, or a you just generalizing the story because his first name is Carlos? Also what does this story have anything to do with your assessment that Nova is 1/3 illegal Mexican?
