Could be back at Rice very soon if he can't get his health back in order. While it would be sad to see him stop playing, it would be great to see him out helping the OG this coming season.
And he could be back in time to teach Taylor McHargue how to slide.02-13-banana
Too bad the body hasn't held up...and the Rangers have post-season potential.
Hello Omaha if he comes back to Rice. He's stated he wants to learn the art of being a head coach from Wayne, and he doesn't have too much longer to accomplish that since Wayne will be 78 next season. On the other hand, his Rangers contract this year is for $10 Mil , and that speaks volumes.
Looks like the reports of Lance's demise have been greatly exaggerated:

He better hit a Dinger because with his wheels a shot into the corner will end up a single.
Man, how great would it be to have Berkman as the coach in waiting!

It would have been great to have him for Fall Ball, but I still think there's a very good chance he'll retire after the season, and enroll in classes in January. And with the season ending mid-October (even should the Rangers advance into the post-season), Lance still could make an appearance toward the end of Fall Ball, as he did last year.
