WMU is behind GVSU and nearly everyone else, but ahead of CMU and EMU. Bad day for the directionals. Go figure, the rankings are worth a grain of salt. Got to use the state filter to find Michigan rankings.

Their methodology is a joke. Seriously, go look at it. Part of their metrics is average score on rate my professor...

Seriously? Just... wow.

RMP has all the credibility of the National Enquirer.
Most ridiculous, arbitrary ranking I've ever seen.

Any ranking system that puts Hillsdale, Albion, Alma, GVSU, WSU, Oakland, Andrews, etc...above WMU in any objectively quantifiable category is an absolute joke.

K College above MSU? Michigan Tech so far down? My god, it's making my head hurt just thinking of how they could have come to these conclusions.

For a REAL ranking system, refer to U.S. News and World Report's annual list.
Theses ranking criteria are like when Michigan native David Stockman was budget director for President Reagan and he said the following:

" none of us really understand what any of these numbers mean."

Bad example. US News' rankings is as flawed as it gets. Ask George Washington alums and parents who footed the bills.

I feel that every college ranking system is going to be flawed to some extent, but USNWR at least uses actual criteria and standards in it's lists.
Harvard is #8 and MIT is #10 on that list! Really?
The U S Military Academy is #7. Though it is a fine institution that is very selective, they are not on par with most of the Ivys and MIT. Being a former soldier that served with a lot of West Pointers, I can tell you, many of a complete dumb a$$ has graduated from that place.

Of course they all rate their profs highly. That is part of culture of the military. In theory, you earn command. In other words, the instructors got their positions because they earned it by excelling in the military and therefore the Plebe gives their utmost respect.......or they do push-ups until they puke!

In contrast, partying, college kids in the civilian world often have the opposite opinion of their professors and their accomplishments. You know, he is just some "old guy that is making them write a paper this weekend while everyone is going to Waldos". 05-nono

Unfortunately that "actual criteria and standards" is completely based on voluntarily provided info which is completely and totally manipulated by participating schools.
