I've been to several games at the Big House, and I would have to disagree with this one. The students are pretty into it, but the general fans are average at best. That said, I did go to the night game 2 years ago vs Notre Dame and that was without question the most electric atmosphere I have ever been in for a college football game. The only thing I remember attending that was more electric was the Tigers vs Athletics when Magglio hit the game walk off HR off Huston Street.

But as far as the most engaged fans. I must have been missing something the other times I was at the Big House, because its really not that impressive considering there are 112,000 people in attendance.
The first part says it all. When 3 metrics have weights of 10, and those metrics are Avg Home Attendance, Avg Home Ticket Price, and Avg Home Capacity %, Michigan is gonna be the most "engaged".

42 - Where you at the 1988 CMU game when we had 32,000 plus in Waldo stadium? I have been to a lot of Michigan games over the years (including vs. ND) but the 1988 CMU game is still my all time favorite. The fans knew we could beat CMU and end the losing streak, and CMU fans were there sure to burst WMU's championship dreams. Greatest atmosphere ever in Waldo.

Even beat the 1999 CMU game when 36,000+ showed up at Waldo.

I dont think that I was. Didnt start college until fall of 92 and didnt live in the area prior to that. I can agree though that several of the WMU/CMU games over the years have been pretty intense and had some buzz. But I think that is a bigger deal for us, because our teams are involved. That ND night game was pretty amazing atmosphere start to finish. Add in the way it ended with 3 TDs in 90 seconds and that place was rocking.

I was there, that 1988 game was MONEY. Great day to be a Bronco.
I remember that 1988 came vs. cMU!! Great game and an amazing Season (Raisin Bowl in Cali!!)
I was there in Waldo for that amazing CMU game as well, sipping on some root beer schnapps, on the top row at the 45 yard line. That was before WMU went to assigned seats. You could have any seat in the stadium as long as you were there when the gates first opened. That was back when my joints could tolerate an extra two hours on the bleachers pre-game. I loved watching the warmups, so it was no problem.

But yeah ... an awesome atmosphere!
