looks ok. personally i think they should of done what the b10 did and try to incorporate a 10 somewhere in the logo kinda like the b10 when they had 11 teams

You mean like IXI, which would be roman numeral for 9+1...
This is the first thing that came to mind.

The Owls should be flattered.
The old B10 logo had an 11 in the negative space around the T in ten.

Will this logo include the word "BIG?"
To place emphasis the number 12 is just silly. Good grief...
The top half looks like longhorn horns and its in OU colors.

You mean they were able to break away from their snark and meme party long enough to actually talk sports?
Lol wow it does look like FAU...
Well the article states that it will not be rolled out till 2014, I may be reading to much into it but maybe this means they will have new members by then despite what many have said. Just speculation... why else would there would be a delay in the implementation? I could just be dreaming too.

from a marketing standpoint the college year starts on july 1st. it might be some kind of contractual obligations keeping it in place. but what i think is the most probable reason for this is they want to give themselves time to properly advertise/display the logo before the cfb starts. one and a half months is simply not enough time to properly do that. as for the timing of the release? b12 media days seems pretty appropriate
A little late to be updating uniforms, fields, courts, signage, etc. for the upcoming season-2014 is the earliest t can be used.

Along the same line of thinking my first response is that it looked like two stress resistant walls (top & bottom) insulated by foam filler. When I thought about it perhaps it does fit.

Somebody spent a lot of money for not much as the old logo looks better.
Wouldn't be surprised if you start to see it show up places though. The Big Ten revealed their last new one (although initially presented an ugly alternate version that has since been dropped) close to the end of the college football season. You didn't see it on any football things and continued to see the Big1T1en logo a lot through the year, but gradually it was replaced by the B1G logo. I'm not sure the Big1T1en logo was gone entirely before the year, but I think the basketball tournament did have the B1G logo that year.
