Quote:Unless there are Big 12 ramifications to the federal antitrust lawsuit that has been brought against the NCAA, or unless there’s news regarding next year’s college football playoffs, the former Iowa athletic director’s session should be fairly tame.

Quote:Revenue that the conference returns to the schools is good — most recently, roughly $22 million for each remaining university that was on board when the league replaced the Big Eight and Southwest conferences in 1996.

Lucrative television contracts are in place. The conference is relatively competitive nationally on the field.

Quote:More teams would mean more fingers in the financial pot.

“We’re not at 10 because we couldn’t find anyone,” Bowlsby said. “We’re at 10 because we wanted to be at 10.

I bet Delany said something like that 100 times before the Big Ten invited Maryland and Rutgers.

Happy at ten until they are ineligible as defined by the NCAA for the playoff...

Theyre happy to be at 10 until they go to 12 or 14. They'll run into problems by the selection committee without conference championships. Possibly two of the four could be SEC teams.

It will never happen.... The B12 tried to get Arkansas:

The SEC is SECond to none when it comes to football and unity. It doesn't need a GOR to keep members from leaving because there's no better place to go....

anyone who posts anything from Bleacher Report should be tarred, feathered, stripped of the feathers and tarred again

that site has less credibility than any of the WVU "insiders"

Btw... It's true; furthermore, the B12 doesn't have enough juice to pull a school from any of the other power conferences. They all have better futures and are more stable than the B12. In fact, the B12 couldn’t pull the worst school in the SEC if it tried (and there’s nothing to stop a school from leaving the SEC).

I hate the Big 12 but I'm glad that we won't invite an aac school that can't put 30k in the stands on a consistent basis.

Undertroll wishes his school was overpaid instead of being a joke in the aac and paid peanuts compared to Iowa St.

Iowa St makes more than the whole aac combined. LOL.

Regardless, it won't stop G5 fans who have no hope of ever joining a power conferences to shut up.

Outside of East Carolina, I hope the aac enjoys the markets they claim and the TV contract that over pays that worthless bunch of schools. 2mm for schools that can't average 30K on a yearly basis is a joke.

Undertroll...good one.... So "Tumble weed Tech" fan wants to talk smack because I posted the truth in my previous post, which you didn't deny.... Most of the population that live in the urban areas many AAC schools are located in have a lot more options for excitement and entertainment other than college football.
With the defection of Texas A&M a couple years ago and A & M's success in the SEC, I'm certain a few Big 12 schools are considering the move if offered. I don't think an offer is there for any Big 12 school to move to the SEC. I'm sure the SEC would LOVE Texas and Oklahoma to move to the SEC. Secondly, Bowlsby is not going to speculate. He's waiting to see how things turn out. The problem with that theory is one never knows exactly what will happen. It could be a negative outcome for the Big 12. Texas is just waiting for the next big deal to whore itself out. It will go where the money is and only. It's wait and see time. Anyway we look at it, Cincinnati is in a good position if expansion or moves take place.

I perfectly agree with my fellow bearcat fan, the only question in my eyes is if expansion will occur and when.

There is no way the B12 could persuade an SEC team, I meant 2 of the 4 selected by the playoff committee could be SEC teams therefore leaving only 2 teams from the P5 to fill the spots. This would mean conferences with tougher schedules and CCGs would probably get priority treatment. This would put the B12 at a disadvantage obviously.
I could see the sec expand to 18 with texas, texas tech, ou and ok state than break off into 3 pods of 6 that act like mini-conferences more so than any sec school join the big 12. I'm sure espn would love it and might try to copy the 18 team format with the acc, add uconn, cincy and wvu. Thus, you got 36 team lineup with sec and acc programming under the espn roof.
