I don't care if you did win American Idol (stupid show), just sing the song the way it was written! Show off your voice on your own songs.
Or should I say the songs that the professional writers will write for you, until your fifteen minutes expire.
I completely agree. The National Anthem is the ONE song (?) that should be sung just one way. So many 'celebrity' singers try and put there own spin on it and make it sound horrible. I feel that that is completely disrespectful to the National Anthem and our country.

I get a little annoyed what some pompus diva sings the national anthem, and adds all these little vocal inflections to show off her (or his) voice, as if to say, "Forget about the flag. It's all about me and my precious voice. Look at me!" That's what happened before the All Star game.

first off, I've never even heard of Kat Deluna. Second, she was trying to put on a show with her arm/body/facial movements. What a disgrace.
I really don't care. Just don't do a Rosanne Barr. Spice it up or keep it simple.
I guess on the other hand I could go around getting offended by everything not 'murica nuff but I have better things to do.
